081 Dealing with Shame - Solo Episode

081 Dealing with Shame - Solo Episode

This weeks episode discusses the topic of shame and how it affects our lives.

I explore how shame can drive us to hide parts of ourselves from the world in an attempt to avoid judgment, yet this ultimately prevents us from genuinely belonging and being seen for who we truly are.

I discuss how shining a light on the parts of ourselves we shame can diminish their power over us and allow us to integrate and accept all parts of ourselves. This episode encourages you to confront your shame in a compassionate way in order to treat yourself with worth and move beyond living a life aimed at simply being "safe at last."

As usual, I trust you'll get something from this episode. If you have questions about it - ask me. Hit me on social media @mikecampbellmc on Instagram or @Mike Campbell Man Coach on Facebook.

077 Men and fear of inadequacy with Amber Hawken

077 Men and fear of inadequacy with Amber Hawken

Today I'm thrilled to bring you my great friend and remarkable and wonderful guest, Amber Hawken.

Amber is coming onto the show for the second time we did an episode all the way back in Episode 11. In that episode, we spoke a lot about masculine-feminine dynamics.

Since our last recording, Amber has taken her deep work with healing trauma into the male space and now co-facilitates retreats for men. We talk about her journey into men's work in this episode.

We cover a lot of common challenges she sees that show up for men. As well as things that present as the challenges and then the things that tend to actually be going on beneath the surface.

We talk about this deep piece around inadequacy and the fear of inadequacy for men. There's so much beauty in what we talk about here and I absolutely love having these conversations with Amber. Regardless of a few tech issues we had, a truly wonderful chat ensued. I trust you'll get something from it.

073 Conversations with an elder with John Broadbent

073 Conversations with an elder with John Broadbent

Today I'm very privileged and excited to bring a guest who I consider a wonderful man and an elder. That is Mr John Broadbent.  He has been in men's work for many years, and we talk about that in this episode and well as touching on how we met back in 2012 when I was going through some shit.

In this episode, we talk about the changes he's seen in me a little over the last 11 years from 30 to now at 41. And we speak to how that translates to our journey as men, these transitions around 30 to 40-45.

An area in which John has his own experience of awakening in 1991 at about 32, and his own journey through to his mid-forties, a marriage breaking up, and all kinds of challenges as a man.

He's an expert in relationships and working with men. He's got so much wisdom and we talk about eldership and the role and importance of it, and why the hell it's missing and what we do about it.

I hope that you get a lot from this episode.

072 From the Projects to High Perfomance with Brandon Collinsworth

072 From the Projects to High Perfomance with Brandon Collinsworth

This week, I'm talking to a dude who manages to be extremely positive while not being in the world of bypassing or ignoring uncomfortable shit in his life.

Brandon Collinsworth is a man who has been through a ton of shit, and we talk about a lot of that in this episode. From growing up in the projects and poverty in East Las Vegas to having some pretty fucking terrible, like, holy-shit-your-life-is-potentially-gonna-spiral habits to some realizations at a pretty significant age. To becoming the man he is today and how he has mastered Positive Psychology.
