Everything Legit: The Nimi Mehta Podcast

Welcome to my podcast! I’m Nimi Mehta, most people know me as Dubai's TV & Radio personality but I'm so much more than that. This podcast was launched a week before I got married, and now 3 years later I'm here taking you on a journey of self-love and no bullsh*t. The topics? Love, relationships, culture, career, family, EVERYTHING - but in the realest, rawest form possible. I say the things people are too scared to.

    Bad memory or Trauma?

    Bad memory or Trauma?

I don't have many memories. Now I know why. 'Dissociation is a disruption in the integrated functions of consciousness, memory, identity, and perception'. It's something I have experienced in my past. Most don't realise it, but at some point in their life they have too. I share it all with you in this episode. In this episode, I answer your questions. The topic of bullying, emotional abuse and mental abuse took over. I share my personal experiences as a child and as an adult. It's so important for us to recognise WHY people say or do certain things towards you; nothing brings you greater peace than knowing most of the time it's not about you.

Ask yourself the question: 'Who can I be my most vulnerable with?' and see where it takes you. I hope it takes you on a path of discovery and self-improvement like it has me!

#23 Allow me to re-introduce myself

#23 Allow me to re-introduce myself

In this episode, I explore my recent relationship with self-discovery. I take time to acknowledge who I used to be, and who I'm proud to be now. How important self-awareness is, along with the language we use about ourselves, for us to figure out who we are and what we want. It's a never-ending journey but one I'm happy to have started!

#20 - James Asquith - Take Control of Your Life

I wanted to find out how someone has achieved what we all wish we could do - travel around the world for a living. We get into James' humble beginnings, how he caught the travel bug and how investment banking shaped his outlook on what he didn't want to become.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

#18 - How to get into the media industry Q&A (because Corona)

Corona virus has meant all my live speaking events are cancelled. The one event I’m really sad to miss out on is a talk for school children trying to get into media. My team and I had already done the prep work for this talk and it seemed a shame to miss it, so we put the answers together and wanted to share it with you on the show today. We’ll also be sending this to as many people we know that are staying at home in the coming weeks. If you’ve been thinking about getting into the media industry, hopefully this will give you a head start.

#17 - Fake It Till You Become It

While scrolling through my notes the other day, I came across an old article that I had written when I had just turned 25, I was a freelancer (unemployed) and was approached by a brand to write about my success. Not feeling like I had been that successful, I wrote about how I thought I would feel if I had been. Now looking back on it, I realised I faked it until I became it.

#16 - A Letter to My Teenage Self

If you could use all of the lessons and knowledge that you'd gained throughout your life to give advice to your teenage self, what would you say? In this episode, I get incredibly deep about my insecurities growing up, whether I've become the person I wanted to be, and what incidents in life have truly scarred me. Keeping everything legit.
