TRIGGER WARNING: The following episode discusses matters of sexual harassment. If you are not comfortable with listening to this content, please skip to 30:11 for the Q&A session or simply join us again next week for more of our usual content.
Data collected by the UN Women UK indicated that 97% of women in the UK, between the ages of 18-24, had experienced some form of sexual harassment in public. The results of this survey, along with the recent events regarding the death of Sarah Everard, instigated a viral trend on TikTok (#97percent) where users shared their own experiences of when they became one of “the 97%”.
In this week’s episode, we begin by discussing what it means to be part of the 97% and by sharing our personal thoughts and experiences. We follow up the somber discussion with a more light-hearted Q&A segment where we answer some of your questions that you sent us on Instagram!
We hope you guys enjoy this episode. If you choose not to listen, we completely respect and understand your decision and we’ll catch y’all again next week with our usual shenanigans!
