    FaceCulture is a daily-updated music platform for in-depth interviews, live sessions, and a lot more with your favorite artists. While we operate mainly on YouTube and other video services, with this podcast we wan't to enable people to listen to a selection of both old and new interviews whenever and however they prefer. A short disclaimer: Because a lot of our interviews are conducted at festivals, music venues, hotels, restaurants, and the like, the quality of the audio isn't always in our full control, so please bare with us when the sound quality doesn't always match that of other podcasts.     The Snuts - Joe McGillveray (2024)

    Joe McGillveray is the guitarist for Scottish indie rock band The Snuts. After generating a grassroots following with the success of a few self-released singles, the band signed with Parlophone and released their debut album 'W.L.' (2021) to great acclaim and claimed the top spot in both the British and Scottish album charts. The follow up album 'Burn the Empire' did almost as well, peaking at the third spot, but it became clear that the band wasn't on the same page with their label. So for their latest album 'Millennials' the band went back to their independent roots. We spoke with Joe about the new album, TRNSMT festival, the early days of the band, having their debut album reach the number one spot, taking creative control back and a lot more!

    EXHORDER - Kyle Thomas (2024)

    Exhorder is one of the pioneers within the groove-oriented thrash metal scene, later occupied by heavyweights like Pantera and Machinehead. The New Orleands band, with vocalist and guitarist Kyle Thomas at its helm, has made waves in the metal scene since their debut album 'Slaughter in the Vatican' was released in 1990.  The band broke up a few years after their second album 'The Law' (1992) and didn't release new music until 2019 with the album 'Mourn the Southern Skies'. We spoke with Kyle about their latest album 'Defectum Omnium' (2024), the punk mentality, making people feel something with their music, his voice, keeping a band together, guitarist Pat O'Brien (Cannibal Corpse) joining the band, and a lot more!

    Olof Mörck is a musician and composer who plays guitar and writes songs for Swedish genre-bending metal band Amaranthe. With vocalist Elize Ryd in front, and their ever evolving musical palette,  the band found mainstream success with their second album 'The Nexus' (2013) and have continued their steady growth ever since. Their latest effort is the album 'The Catalyst' (2024) and we spoke with Olof about the new album, Metallica, melodies, pushing boundaries, how meeting Elize changed everything, uplifting people, and a lot more!

    Jason Lytle is the driving force behind legendary American indie rock band Grandaddy. The band was formed in 1992, and has released six studio albums to date including the critically acclaimed 'Sumday' in 2003. Grandaddy disbanded in 2006, but reunited in 2017 to release their new album 'Last Place'. Their latest album is 'Blu Wav' (2024) and we spoke with Jason about the album, the misuse of technology, how he creates songs,  pedal steel guitar, making the music sound effortless, and a lot more!     Eicca is a Finnish cellist, songwriter and producer most know for being a founding member of symphonic metal band Apocalyptica. The band has released 9 albums and has sold millions of records across the world. His latest undertaking is being a composer and soloist for the orchestral metal project 'Bright & Black'.     Luis Vasquez was a musician, singer, songwriter and producer who made post-punk records under the monniker The Soft Moon. Vasques grew up playing punk rock in California and formed his one-man band The Soft Moon in 2009. He released six albums since, the lastone being 'Exister' in 2022. Vasquez unexpectedly passed away in January of 2024. In this interview from 2018 we talked about his album Criminal, growing up without a father, a cinematic quality to his music, his writing process, dishonesty in the music industry, and a lot more!

    Vera Sola (Danielle Aykroyd) is an American-Canadian singer, multi-instrumentalist, writer and much more. After studying poetry and literature at Harvard, Sola fell into music and released her debut album 'Shades' (2018) to critical acclaim. She continues her brand of captivating and almost hypnotizing  Americana on her sophomore album 'Peacemaker' (2024), as she continues to explore and define her own musicality.     Rick Witter is the frontman for British alternative rock band Shed Seven. The band was a part of the Britpop scene of the 90s, during which they released four top-20 albums in the UK. Their most successful album was 'A Maximum High' (1996) accompanied by the hit single 'Going For Gold'. The band broke up in the early 2000s but reformed some years later, and started releasing new music in 2017 with the album 'Instant Pleasures'.  Their latest album is A Matter of Time (2024) and we had a chat with Rick about the album, the second life of the band, an underdog mentality, working with Pete Doherty, songwriting, and a lot more!

    Declan Welsh & The Decadent West is a Glaswegian indie rock band known for their energetic live shows, and clever, relatable lyrics.  The band released their debut album 'Cheaply Bought, Expensively Sold' in 2019, which included the singles 'Absurd' and 'No Fun'. They recently released their follow-up album '2', and we had a chat with frontman Declan Welsh about the album, evolving as a band, his affinity with words and lyrics, a need to express himself, his idea of success, and a lot more!

    Silenoz (Sven Atle Kopperud) is a guitarist and founding member of Norwegian symphonic metal band Dimmu Borgir. Their brand of symphonic black metal, through albums like 'Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (1997) and Spiritual Black Dimensions (1999), established them as one of the biggest bands in the genre. We spoke with Silenoz about the album 'Inspiratio Profanus,' a collection of all of the covers they have done in the past. We also spoke about how he got into metal, broadening his musical horizon, learning from covers, writing new music, fan expectations, and a lot more!

Angie made her debut with the single 'Slow Mover' in 2017 and followed it up with her debut album Salt (2019).  With a beautiful voice and very candid and honest lyrics, McMahon's music continued to win souls winning an Australian Independent Record Award along the way.     LANY is an American dream pop band consisting of vocalist and pianist Paul Jason Klein and drummer and programmer Jake Clifford Goss. Their first three albums LANY (2017), Malibu Nightds (2018) and Mama's Boy (2020) all made it into the US album top-40.     Tarja Turunen (2023)

    Tarja Turunen is a Finnish classical and heavy metal vocalist who is most known for being the former singer for Symphonic metal band Nightwish. After her departure from Nightwish in 2006, Tarja focused on her solo career that combined elements from classical, metal and rock music. Her first solo album 'Henkäys ikuisuudesta' (2004) was inspired by Christmas, and in 2017 she released'From Spirits and Ghosts (Score for a Dark Christmas)'. Her latest album Dark Christmas (2023) continues this trend of her dark, gothic interpretations of Christmas classics. We spoke with Tarja about her favorite Christmas memory, creepy children's choirs, music saving her in dark times, the other side of Christmas, and a lot more!
