We also discuss the Christians for National Liberation (CNL) and the New People's Army of the Philippines (NPA).

Brandon Wrencher, Anthony Smith and Whitney Wilkinson Arreche are co-authors of Liberating Church: a 21st Century Hush Harbor Manifesto. Our conversation together looks at the role hush harbors played in enslaved Afrikan's resistance to plantation Christianity and the larger struggle against U.S. American colonialism.

The book names eight characteristics of hush harbors and observes six religious communities/organizations today that embody one or more of the eight characteristics. Check it out here!
