Romans 8 ,and other associated scriptures, tell us why we suffer and what God's purpose in it is for Christians.

As we look at Romans 8:17 and other scripture, we take a close look at what it means to be an Heir of God.

It is an amazing thing that we have a Heavenly Father. Which means we have access to someone even more powerful than an earthly monarch.

Today, we focus on what Romans has to say about how the Spirit liberates us from the bondage to sin and what God's adoption means to us.

It takes the work of the Spirit to kill the desires of the flesh. And it needs to be done daily. God's Spirit is the active agent for obedience and change in our lives.

When we give our lives to Christ, we no longer owe the flesh anything. We owe God everything.

We all face the problem of wanting to live a righteous life, but as Romans 8 shows us, unless we have the Holy Spirit, we are not able to.

Romans 8 shows a distinct difference between those living in the flesh and those living in the Spririt.

Romans 8 is the jewel, the focal point of the book of Romans. This is what all the talk about the Law and Freedom and our security in Christ find their focus.

Wisdom is not simply knowledge, but that knowledge applied. But there are two vastly different types of wisdom.

Our God is the God of the Impossible. And He shows us that He can do the impossible by bringing life where there has been none before

Christ is the genuine, real and authentic Light by which all physical life and spiritual life is measured and revealed.

Sin is waiting for every opportunity to trip us up. So, a true believer needs a strong resolve to love and follow God's law.

As Paul goes from verses 7-13 in Romans 7 to verses 14 on, he goes from past tense to present tense in his discussion of our relationship with sin and the law and the effect it has on our lives.

Although God's law shows us our sin, God's law cannot be blamed/

Through our union with Christ, we have died to the law so that we are free to bear Spiritual fruit for God.

When you receive wages, that means you are getting what you worked for. When you receive a gift, it is not something that is deserved.

We review the differences of living by the law and living by God's grace and the consequences of our choices of which master we serve.

Since we have been given a new life in Christ, we need to remember that we are His, and we should use our lives to glorify Him.

As a Christian, living our new life with Christ, we must remember that sin is no longer our master.
