    125 The Red Carpet

    125 The Red Carpet

Everything always works out. The Universe is always laying out the red carpet for us. Always.  Operating out of fear, you will never receive the proper solutions. Staying in the right frequency. Do the 'rules' really apply?
Making the agreement with God: I devote my life to saturating in my relationship with God; being a good person. He takes care of the rest. "Everything always works out for me". The creator mechanism is off. Everything should be easy? In the seasons of pain we are still okay.  The 'bounce back' is always there. Rooted in the power of the universe. Creation. Maintenance. Destruction. Nature only ever supports evolution of spirit. Growing and developing constantly. Shedding off old layers of ourself. Chaos is love. Love is chaos. Chaos is good natured. The world needs the resurrected you. Letting go of preferences. Accepting reality.

    123 Love Actually

    123 Love Actually

Living life bent on satisfying our self-importance vs living life concerned with how I can give. They hold the flashlight over your shoulder. The Ego's number 1 job. Collapse. Get you alone. Bury you. No one did it to you but you. Euphoria is the number one goal. It fixed everything. Trying to snuff out the overly sensitive version and the result. The world didn't sign off on the sensitive. Ending up alone with no one to show off to. Letting the true you emerge and have room to play. The war is over. New relationships. Stepping back into the family holidays as a new person. Am I expecting the family to be different because I am trying to live a spiritual way off life? What am I bringing to the holidays? Absolute vulnerability. The practicality of God. Love Actually. Should they be any different than the way they have always been? If I expect them to be different this holiday then who is the asshole? A Mother's love.

    121 Past Versions

    121 Past Versions

In this episode we respond to a question sent in from a viewer via TikTok: "What do you do to get emotional and mental relief when going through a trauma when alcohol and drugs are no longer an option?" @Forsuresam

Loving on past versions of ourselves. Trying to get relief is the issue. Feel the feelings and pay no attention to the thoughts surrounding them. Addiction is all trauma. Radical relief in an instant. Internal race to find escape. Not being comfortable in your own skin. The problem is that we run from emotional discomfort. Relief comes from facing the things I want to run from. the Ego will always want some type of relief that doesn't include it being faced. Pacification relief or true relief. The forever chase. Process oriented growth. Forever bondage. Needing others to meet your needs. Growing up without a father. No faith and no foundation. The internal mechanisms that drive us. Looking for a painting. Creating self-approval. Letting uncertainty become okay. Loving on our past self. How would I have wanted someone to guide me when I was that past version?

    120 Drama

    120 Drama

In this episode we respond to a question sent into us via TikTok: "How do you become one and be able to move with a baseline of 'okayness' surrounded by drama".

Participate in the drama of life. We celebrate Paul's 1 year sobriety and he gives us a few words on it. Saying "yes" to everything. Moving from a constant state of disturbance into a state of peace. Keep moving forward. Trying to control the day. The danger of reacting compulsively to discomfort.  "I'm not okay and it's not okay". Moving through the drama with levity. Accepting the things that come to you. What we want out of life is peace of mind. God is Life. Life was always unsafe. You have to let go. The audience is booing. We are a part of the play. Finding God in the action of life. Information vs Awareness. Fool's paradise. Hits ya in the Soul. Paul's lip pillow.

    117 Daily Action

    117 Daily Action

The power in getting real and raw. The spiritual approach. You can have doubt and change your life. Look at how you're living. Don't give weight to the mind. Take action in opposition to the mind. It's good to be okay. What do you have to lose? What do you have to gain? Are you happy with the payoff? Feelings and emotions are the things we have the most of and know the least about. Non-negotiable action. The power of choice. Building self-worth and self-respect. Excuses and wanting it to be easy. Keeping spiritual practice number one. What needs to die is the loudness of the mind.

    116 Sunflowers

    116 Sunflowers

Either face it or get put down from it; your choice. Do we need hope to change our lives? The call to adventure. Drawing a picture of a sunflower or walking through a field of sunflowers? Knowledge vs Experience. Can you draw a pretty picture? Let Life show you what it's all about rather than trying to figure it out. Let it happen. Relapsing after long term recovery. How do we keep active and stay humble? Accepting conditions as they are. Not comparing yourself to past experiences. Stop trying to get the old experiences back. It has gone away for a reason. We don't want to get attached to old information. Relapse shows you where the fault was in the foundation.  Feeling like you can't breathe emotionally. Being in the thick of it. You earned it.

    115 WISHBONE

    115 WISHBONE

Dropping into meditation and finding the place we are meant to be in. No wants. No desires. No needs. Everything is as it should be in this moment. Beginner meditation. Breath. Counting. Guided meditation. Bicep curl for the mind. The ticking of the mind. Smile like you mean it. What spiritual practice does for us. "If you don't have any time for meditation and prayer you will have a lot of time for sickness and trouble". No spiritual practice and you are at the mercy of the world. Slave to the wishing well. You don't need a wishbone you need a backbone. Watching the busyness of the mind. Shutting the mind off is not the goal. It's all vibration. High frequency. Low frequency.  Meditation is a innocent and passive process. Not saying much. Action is the magic word. Wishing it was different creates suffering. Running and hiding creates a hidden life. It's in the pain that we grow. The burning bush and red seas. Taking a new person into the world. Creating value within.

113 Matthew 508 | The Ties That Bind Us

113 Matthew 508 | The Ties That Bind Us

"For the most part, nothing that has taken place in the last 8 years could hold a candle to what the fuck it was like doing drugs."
    Matt [52:11]

Matthew is a licensed mental health counselor, clinical director at a local treatment center, and currently working on his PHD in counseling. And a rapper. Under the stage name “Matthew 508,” he has released five albums since getting sober in 2015. His most recent is “The Ties That Bind Us” which dropped on May 12, 2023.

Matt's relationship with the abstract nature of Death. We break down Matt's writing process and go over the meaning and story behind his new album 'The Ties That Bind Us'. How has adversity shaped you? Whether it be in or outside of recovery. The 'three headed monster'. Long term recovery. Clinical sessions, medication compliance and 12 step affiliation. The benefits of medication. The benefits of therapy. Getting twisted up in the racing thoughts of the mind and getting out of it. The adversity of addiction reviving a perspective within you that you always wanted. Operating in the lowest version of ourselves. Drifting away from the things that are working. Adversity continues to shape us. I can't do this by myself. If the pain is honored. The creative process and the inner critic.

    112 Nonsensical

    112 Nonsensical

We chop up a DEEP question that a listener sent in! Send in your voice memos to fromthegravepodcast@gmail.com

Seeing and feeling expansion. Creation - Maintenance - Destruction. The Universe is structured in us as it is in Nature. Consciousness is constantly going through expansion and contraction. Getting pushed into the wilderness. Where your greatest purpose in life is there will be fear. When you get involved with Nature; She nods back. Life is in a constant state of change. "How does God keep you sober"?
The doomed nature of addiction/alcoholism. How we get sober does not make any sense. The disease of addiction/alcoholism does not make any sense. It is a walking riddle. If we suffer from something much greater than ourselves then our solution must also come from something much Greater. Flying the UFO with no answer. The function of the 12 steps. Contemplating something great. Opening yourself up to new knowledge. "Let he that be without sin cast the first stone". Curiosity helps you go inward. The Bhagavad Gita. Knowing your faults and continuing to practice them. When the pain gets great enough. Watching the ones you love go through pain. The story of the Gods are within us.

Consciousness is finding itself a new place to fit. If you feel confused, you're right where you're supposed to be. reaching for an answer causes suffering. What's a couple of nuts and seeds worth to you? Let's look at the pay off of holding on. You're going to get compensated from letting go or holding on; your choice. Wanting answers equals a life stuck in your head. Reading for a result. I should be doing "this or that". The mind is a powerful thing. Page 30, you win. Page 29, no prize.  Give 150% and let go of the outcome. At the mercy of kilos and pounds. Depending on what happens, a different character leaves the gym.
