    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Tonight on GeekNights, we review Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. It might be the best cinematic animation ever made. It's the longest animated film every produced by an American studio at 140 minutes. It's a classic for all time. Everyone should watch it immediately. You will never see Rym and Scott this giddy about anything. That aberration alone warrants that you must watch this film as soon as possible.

In the news, the American northeast is a dangerous hellscape currently, Hayao Miyazaki's "How Do You Live" hits theaters July 14th and there will be no trailer, and Image Comics leaves Diamond Distributors.

    Retooling GeekNights Wednesday

    Retooling GeekNights Wednesday
Tonight on GeekNights we talk about GeekNights. Particularly, GeekNights Wednesdays. It's the odd duck of the show, focused not just entirely on the passive consumption of media, but constrained to specific types of media. A meta show! In the news, the Venture Brothers Movie is coming, the original Ken Sugimori Pokemon artwork is on the Internet, Makoto Shinkai's Suzume is in theaters, and there is some important meta information about this movie.

Shin Ultraman is exactly what you'd expect.

Per William Bibbiani in The Wrap it is best described as a "feudal-Japanese hair-metal-demonic-curse serial-killer-political-tragedy rock-opera" anime movie. Go see it. Don't wait. Sonic X (2003)

In the news, convention "leaks" are always funny, retroactive editing is becoming more and more common, someone leaked the entire 87 minute animatic of the (sadly) canceled Genndy Tartakovsky Popeye feature, and Anime Matsuri remains one of the worst anime cons in the world, and it's spinning off a "dubbing studio" with a known sex pest.
