Today we will kick off a spring series in celebration of NEW (but familiar!) music—my EP “You Revive Me”, releases THIS WEEK wherever you listen to music!

I’ve named today’s episode “Up ‘Till Now”, because this album (that will continue to unfold throughout the spring) feels like an Ebenezer moment, to stop and say, “Up ‘till now, the Lord has been our help!” He has been so faithful, so kind and true, even through some of the hardest seasons in life.

Also, as promised, today I will share with you what I wrote and read at my precious Mama’s celebration of life! I hope that it will help remind you of your own legacy that you are leaving, or perhaps even help define it!

If you or someone you know has experienced loss this season, you’ll want to listen and pass this one along. 

There will be more to come with sharing some beautiful truths that I’ve learned and received from my sweet Mama’s legacy. But for now, this is me letting you in on some of the last days and hours of her precious life here on earth. 

When we released the beloved hymn, Be Thou My Vision, on November 10th, I could never have imagined that my mother would go Home to Jesus just eleven days later. This song would become a prophetic anthem for me to hold onto and sing over this season. 

Whatever you are walking through this season, I pray that this episode (and this song) meets you in the most powerful way!

Okay, so this one made me weepy! Today we’ll be in Psalm 118 which is a part of the Hallel—a collection of six Psalms (113-118) that have been sung and recited on joyous occasions and festivals all throughout Israel’s history. We’ll remember together that Jesus would have sung these very Psalms as a little boy, as well as his disciples, and Psalm 118 was sung by Jesus and his disciples together just before they made their way to the Mount of Olives. It’s this beautiful picture of the power of worship when it’s rooted and grounded in timeless Scripture, but then experienced in the very presence of Jesus! 

May we be a part of the true worshipers who will worship in Spirit and in Truth, singing about God, TO God! Letting a new song arise in us, from our hearts to His. I’ll talk to you soon!

Today we’re in beautiful Psalm 19 where we’ll remember together that God set revelation in the heavens that is pouring out promise over us day and night, night and day!

This kind of framework, His order, His heart, His way, postures us to look into His rules, even His boundaries for us. To heed their warning—yes—but to also know the great reward in keeping His way! Certainly one of the greatest rewards is His very presence and even confession and repentance can afford us a closeness with Him that we might not find any other way! I’ll talk to you soon!

Today I’m going to tell you about some home renovations that Nate and I have embarked on this summer, just to let you in on a little bit of our world and the DIY adventures that we find ourselves swimming in! 

With all that going on, the Psalms have kept a steady STIRRING in me and I pray the Lord has used them in the same way for you! 

Today we will be in Psalm 66 together where we will explore the beautiful declaration of, “As for me, I will tell what He has done for my soul.” We’ll talk about leaning in with intentionality to tell God what He has done, as well as others! 

Yes, we’ll be reminded of the importance of surrounding ourselves with people who we experience Truth with. Friends who say, “Come and listen, let me tell you what He has done for me!”

Last week we talked about a holy resolve, when we have a shift in perspective upon remembering what is TRUE about God, about ourselves and the world around us. This week we’re going to sit in a bit of a holy tension together in Psalm 88, which is a passage that’s not easy to get comfy in!

But I am so excited to tell you that we have a VERY special guest joining us today! Adrienne Camp is going to lead us in coming around our Psalm for this week and I know you’re going to LOVE hearing from her! I got word that she has just released a beautiful bible study called As For Me: Life Through the Lens of the Psalms (available now everywhere you buy books!) and you know I had to have her join us! 

You are going to love the richness of her heart and life as she shares about the freedom in Christ that is ours when we trust God and look to Him and invite Him to work in our lives…even through hardship and struggle! I’ll talk to you soon!

I’m SO THRILLED that the SUMMER IN THE PSALMS series is back! I have needed this in my own life!! The lazy days of summer can be wonderful, but I find that it’s easy to drift from my rhythm of staying grounded in truth if I’m not careful. I hope this series meets you right on time in the same way! 

Today we’ll look at Psalm 73 together. It’s about as honest as it gets, I love it! We can glean so much from it as we witness the Psalmist sing of his struggle but most importantly, we get to see where he goes to find answers. 

The Psalmist is looking around him and things just don’t make sense. He has been careful to keep his life pure, but his only reward seems to be pain and turmoil. Yet, he looks around and sees people who don’t care a thing about God or His ways and they seem to have it all together! 

He assures us that he was tempted to say out loud 
what was REALLY in his head and his heart concerning his bitterness but—thankfully for you and me—he chooses a different path, a better resolve. One that you and I can see for ourselves today as we navigate a perplexing hour! I’ll talk to you soon!

Today I’m so excited to get to come around the song “Valor”, one of my favorite songs from my new album, “This is the Hour,” available everywhere you listen to music. 

This song rose up in me in a season where I began to realize that the hardships, the pain, and what felt like relentless trials were not for nothing. In fact, they would afford me something that nothing in this world could offer me. My bravest step in that season would be surrendering, yielding once again to a sovereign God. Moving toward Him, my true relief in this life!

VALOR // This beautiful word… I’ve come to embrace it like a friend. It’s a personal bravery that is directly tied to, even flows out of our very identity as the Beloved of God. 

But much like soul rest, it isn’t accomplished by our determination or will — it’s in surrender that Christ’s strength is imparted to us and through us! Today we’re going to keep leaning into the posture and perspective that God’s presence has always been His ultimate plan for His people, that we might flourish and even cause the world around us to flourish too! Shifting our gaze towards Him each day is vital for our growth and it remains one of the easiest things possible for the human race!

New Episode Today!! 
Today we’ll come around these intriguing questions: What if His presence is really His plan for us? And, what if His will for our lives is simply to walk with Him and treasure His “withness” with us more than anything? 

The longer I live, the more I’m convinced that the mundane really is the platform that God uses to refine us and grow us…to even shape our lives for longevity! Our part in it is learning to be aware of His presence and being willing to consistently meet with Him in the rhythm of our ordinary days. I know for me, it’s easy to allow the thing I’m building FOR Him to blind me from truly just seeing Him. 

I’m also going to share a song with you today called “Evermore” that comes around this beautiful theme of His presence being what He values most on our behalf!

Y’all, it’s back. I’M BACK! I’m so excited to relaunch The Glorious in the Mundane podcast this week! You probably guessed that I’m going to be coming around my new album called “This is the Hour,” available everywhere you listen to music! I’m not coming around these songs just for the song’s sake—I just believe that God has shown me so much in the past few years of writing and recording these songs and I’m excited to tell the stories and to testify of God’s faithfulness once again and to encourage you that your “ordinary” is a place where God wants to meet with you and shape you into who He’s always known you to be! Today we’re going to come around some simple practices— heart postures if you will—that help lead us to unbroken union with God. These postures have helped me to go deep with the Lord even when I’m on the go or only have a limited amount of quiet time. 

I’ve heard it said, mission is not sustainable without union with God. Whatever it is that we’re putting our hearts and hands to—it ultimately won’t last unless we cultivate a real and lasting relationship with God. One where we actually converse with Him and ask Him to show us where He is working in our lives and we, in turn, act in obedience.

NEW PODCAST TODAY!! Today I’m going to introduce a NEW SONG that is hands-down my favorite song that God has stirred in me yet. It’s that precious to me! Even days after writing it, I was sharing it but that’s mostly because of the encounter that I had with God on my front porch one evening. The song stands as a vivid reminder of not only that moment but of what I truly believe God desires for His people in this hour: That we would come HOME to His heart. Fully and completely. 

In John 14, Jesus was asked, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” In verse 23 Jesus answered saying, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” 

Not only do I believe it’s possible for God to be our truest home this side of heaven, I believe it’s his plan for us. This is the brightest hope of our Gospel story…that we are reconciled to the Father’s arms in the here and now, because of Jesus! 

I’m tagging those of you who heard me squawk out (through tears) this story and the very beginnings of this song, even when I was still just reading the lyrics from my journal. And thanks to those of you who said, “You have to keep the ‘screen door’ line in the bridge!” As I remember those moments I can’t help but think…how beautiful is the Body of Christ!? That we have each other and we’re all a part of this Home together. 

May you find yourself further up and farther in, finding your truest home in His heart again today. I’ll talk to you soon!

SURPRISE!! BRAND NEW EPISODE TODAY! I decided to jump in and end our Psalms for Summer’s End series in REAL TIME and to say “HAPPY FIRST WEEK OF FALL, Y’ALL!” 

Today you’ll get an exciting update on the MUSIC and the PODCAST series that’s coming your way this fall! We’ll also come around Psalm 91 together, which is a very tender Psalm for me, as we prayed it over our son, Noah, even before he was born! You’ll even get to hear about the “Rite of Passage” ceremony we held for Noah when he turned 13 and how we’re still seeing the themes threaded through his life from that time! 

Most importantly, we’ll remember the strong refuge that is our Almighty God! There is protection and provision for those who take refuge in Him! I’ll talk to you soon!

This Psalm is so near and dear to my heart! In fact, Nathan and I wrote a song based around this Psalm when we were still just dating. David models for us in this passage what it looks like to take refuge in God and let Him hide us and heal us but he’s also showing us something so important to pursue during seasons of hardship! I think there are so many ways that we can respond in painful seasons. There’s always plenty to complain about, lots of drama to post on social media and tons of ways that we can focus on ourselves as we’re trying to figure out what’s going to happen next! Thankfully, we have the Word of God over us today! It offers us LIFE and along with that life it offers us actual HELP in times of trouble. Thank You, Jesus! I love that David shows us HOW to actively wait on God and how to not waste the hardship! He models what to go after and what to be about and focus on when we don’t know what else to do! This passage is pure gold! I’ll talk to you soon!
