    Vale Royal by Aidan Dun

    Vale Royal by Aidan Dun
An enduring mystical epic has been added to our literature - Michael Moorcock

He has an extraordinary sense of the past. He's one of those people, along with Blake and Chatterton, who are like a divining rod for history - Peter Ackroyd

Aidan Andrew Dun grew up in the West Indies, returning to London as a teenager then travelling around the world for more than a decade before writing his first epic poem, Vale Royal. Launched at the Royal Albert Hall, it led to him being dubbed as the 'voice of King's Cross' and the book quickly sold out. This is audio of Aidan Dun reading the entire cycle, recorded in front of a live audience at Lauderdale House, Highgate, London on Friday 21st October, 2022.

We are delighted to announce that Goldmark has now published the second edition of Aidan Dun's critically acclaimed epic poem, Vale Royal, in deluxe paperback and a special limited edition signed and numbered cloth covered hardback with additional holographic material handwritten by the author. The Collector's hardback edition of 100 only, is signed and numbered, each containing an extra triad in the poet’s hand.

The deluxe paperback and collector's hardback are both available at goldmarkart.com.

    Anne Mette Hjortshøj

    Anne Mette Hjortshøj

Join gallery owner Mike Goldmark in conversation with celebrated Danish potter Anne Mette Hjortshøj. Broadcasting live from the tiny island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea, Anne Mette Hjortshøj began her career in ceramics with a student apprenticeship to fellow potter Phil Rogers in 1998. Rogers has said that he was apprehensive before he met her; with her arrival, however, he knew instinctively that Anne Mette was not only humble and attentive but greatly talented, displaying inner strength and determination that will ensure a long and creative career.

Anne Mette has built three large kilns in her native Denmark, the latest a two chamber wood firing kiln built in 2011 at her ramshackle farmhouse on the west coast of Bornholm. Though all her pots exhibit her desire to challenge herself in glaze and form, her slab bottles are certainly Anne Mette’s tour de force. Her pottery combines beautiful aesthetics with a function befitting the hardiest domestic ware. She has demonstrated throughout the world including South Korea and Japan and is looking forward to her next exhibition at Goldmark in November 2020.
