Episode 49: Marilyn Nykiforuk - Band Bash, Part 1
This week we're fortunate to have part I or our discussion with Ms. Marilyn Nykiforuk in which we touch on the nature of, and preparations for, Band Bash 2014. We also mention an upcoming author event at Selby and the Anime/Manga Club at Fruitville. Band Bash 3 @ the Selby Public Library, 6/14/2014 6PM to 11PM: Five of the area’s hottest young bands will be featured at Selby Public Library’s 3rd annual Band Bash, the library’s premier event for teens. The library will explode with electrifying guitars and pounding drums. Participants will hear rock, pop, hip-hop, jazz, heavy metal, alternative and modern folk. The line-up includes: SNAPM, Pure Organic Trio, the Savannah Brady Band, 21 Days Remain, and The Anderson Brothers. You will join thousands of teens, creating an electrifying atmosphere inside the library when the lights are dimmed. In between sets, DJ Joey D will play the latest dance music. Besides listening, dancing, and moshing, teens can enjoy free snacks provided by Bob Evans Farms, Jimmy John’s, Bob’s Boat House and Panera Bread. Other activities will include: Wii, Xbox and PS3 video games; having your picture taken; playing or purchasing records from the Sarasota Music Archives; and taking part in one of the many craft activities. Let’s break last year’s attendance record! Come to this memorable event and bring your friends. For more info: http://bit.ly/1m22fy6
