Episode 18: Twisted Sister?? What Is That?? (A Best Of: The Atlantic Records Years – 3 LP Scenario)

On today’s episode, Pete is stepping into a “What If?” role as an employee of Rhino Records with the scenario of being asked to put together a “Best Of” 3 LP compilation set for Twisted Sister. Based on all 5 studio albums released by Atlantic Records from 1983 – 1987. In total, 25 songs have been selected to represent this “What If?” scenario & spread across 3 LP’s. Along with some album notes and personal stories to round out the show. All tracks are taken directly from Pete’s vinyl collection of US & German import pressings of all 5 studio albums on Atlantic Records. PLAY IT LOUD, MUTHA!

Episode 17: KISS Round Table Discussion #3 (Double Platinum & The Solo Albums)

Pete is joined once again by Joe Milazzo, Ron Valdes & newcomer to the panel, Tommy Lombardozzi for Part 3 of the I Am Vinyl Podcast KISS round table discussion.

This time we’re discussing KISS in 1978. Beginning with their first “Best Of” 2 LP compilation, “Double Platinum”. Followed by discussing the 4 individual solo albums released by Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, Peter Criss & Paul Stanley. Aside from discussing and spinning our favorite redos & remixes from the “Double Platinum” compilation, we also discuss & choose 3 of our favorite tracks from each individual solo album until we collectively compiled, sequenced & then spin our 10 song 1978 KISS studio album (which we collectively decided to call “Phantoms”) had they not released the 4 solo albums individually. As usual, we also discuss some of our least favorite moments and tracks from each album.

All vinyl spins on this episode from Pete’s collection were taken from the 2019 Sound Of Vinyl Germany 180 GM 2 LP Silver Vinyl Pressing of “Double Platinum” & the 2018 Sound Of Vinyl U.S. Limited Edition Colored Vinyl Box Set (Red, Blue, Green & Purple) of the Solo albums.

Episode 16: Guns N' Roses "Use Your Illusion" 1 & 2 (What if it was just one Illusion?) – Pete's 2 LP Version

Episode 16: Guns N' Roses "Use Your Illusion" 1 & 2 (What if it was just one Illusion?) – Pete's 2 LP Version

A long debated discussion by hard rock & heavy metal fans. What if Guns N’ Roses hadn’t released “Use Your Illusion” as two separate album sets? Pete presents his scenario & sequence of the album had it been released as 1 CD, 1 long playing cassette and as a Double Vinyl set. Taken from the 2008 Back To Black 2 LP sets of “Use Your Illusion” 1 & 2.
