My Liturgical Year of Tolkien: Easter/Pentecost - The Return of the King

We are once again squeaking into a liturgical season. Before (or as) we switch from white (to red) to green, join me as I ramble though The Return of the King, which I think you'll find is pretty liturgically appropriate.

Ender's Game: Some Books Shouldn't Be Movies

Ender's Game: Some Books Shouldn't Be Movies

I read Ender's Game over Labor Day Weekend and then I decided to revisit the movie. It's a bit of a slippery fish when it comes to adapting this particular IP and maybe it should just be left alone. Beware: spoilers abound.

    I Am Bad at Poetry

    I Am Bad at Poetry

You may have noticed there was no episode last weekend. Was it because it was Independence Day? Was it because I forgot? Or am I trying to buy myself time because I don't have anything else recorded? Who's to say?

Whatever the reason, feast your ears on some poetry, both proper poets' poetry, read badly by me, and some other poetry, written badly by me. It had been many years since I read said bad poetry and I forgot just how terrible it is. I hope it entertains you as much as it did me.

What Does It Mean to Be Represented?

What Does It Mean to Be Represented?

What is it that makes you see yourself in a fictional character? Or, what is it about a fictional character that makes you feel represented by them? I take issue with the popular understanding of representation in media in an episode that might get me in trouble if, you know, anyone were listening.
