    The Art of Conscious Parenting

This episode is a voyage through the emotional landscape of modern parenting, where we reveal strategies that enable parents to nurture their children's growth and model emotional control. As we navigate the complex dynamics of parenting, the conversation shifts to the emotional intelligence required for setting boundaries and providing context for our decisions. Gain perspectives on how this modern parenting style can break generational curses and set the stage for well-rounded, expressive, and self-assured children.

Journaling, breathing techniques, and setting realistic boundaries are just a few of the tools we dissect, offering a lifeline for those moments when patience wears thin. This episode isn't just about nurturing our children; it's a reminder to extend that same compassion to ourselves. So, if you're ready for a conversation that's as much about self-care as it is about child-rearing, you're in the right place. Let's walk this path together, learning to parent with grace, understanding, and a touch of humor—because, let's face it, sometimes you've got to laugh to keep from crying.

Cultural Legacy: Caribbean Identity + History

Cultural Legacy: Caribbean Identity + History

Caribbeanites have a rich history and legacy. In this episode, our featured guest, Dr. Natasha Lightfoot, Associate Professor of History at Columbia University, shares her wealth of knowledge on the topic. We discuss the crucial role of people of African descent in the making of the United States of America and the entire western hemisphere. And the importance of talking about slavery, colonialism, and all the different isms that come from that—capitalism, racism, sexism, colorism, all of those things that, in many ways, originate with the first sins of Western expansion. As first-generation kids, we examine our experiences growing up with two distinct cultures and their influence on our lives.
