Flok (the return of..) The InBrighton Live show from Saturday 14th February 2014 on RadioReverb from Brighton in the UK Although a recent visitor to the studio, Flok flew (metaphorically?) back this way for another live session. This was to celebrate a headline gig at The Latest music bar in Brighton. Sadly one member was blown off course and they are here playing as a duo, without Matt the drummer. The full band create a surpisingly funky folk rock sound, with just acoustic guitar, vocals and drums. This session showcases the vocal inspiration of Alex and Danny's guitar - strumming up some magic with their orgiginal tunes and arrangements - watch the skies for more ... Caitlin Stubs and Paul Murray - 2 Live Sessions Live Sessions on the InBrighton Live music show from Saturday 8 February - on RadioReverb - radio from the heart of Brighton, UK Caitlin Stubbs, in a live session here, with just her guitar ( she is also a brilliant piano player ), has been a part of the Brighton music scene from the age of 14 as a solo singer/songwriter and over her time of performing has developed a much more dynamic sound. Her folky tones and truthful lyrics are enhanced on her studio recordings, by an eclectic backline of drums, trumpet and cello. Her main influences are her grandpa – the pacifist beat poet; Adrian Mitchell alongside Woody Guthrie, Billy Bragg, Pete Seeger and Joni Mitchell - 'sounds also like Ellie Goulding without the electric trickery! ' Paul Murray  is a singer songwriter based in Brighton. Another early starter, he has been playing for nearly ten years and gigging for most of them. Paul plays a combination of folk, indie and blues with harder rock guitar playing techniques at times. Echo & The Beats Live  Live Session on the InBrighton Live music show from Saturday 25 January on RadioReverb - radio from the heart of Brighton, UK Here, in an unplugged, accoustic set, and without brilliant drummer Weezey Jaye, are Echo and The Beats. - Based in Brighton, ( tho some are from other parts! ) , "This young and experimental 4 piece are looking to push the boundaries of modern music, sticking their middle fingers up to the government. Yet to be placed into a genre, these guys mix up punk and ska, throw a bit of mod in there, give it a cheeky dose of spoken word and then scream .." Fond of Rudy - live band session On the InBrighton Live show from Saturday 18 January 2014 on RadioReverb - Radio from the heart of Brighton, UK Fond Of Rudy formed in 2009, describe themselves as a "South Eastern Calypso" mixing indie, rock and preppy pop. Started as three friends writing songs in bedrooms and lead to the creation of a 4 piece Brighton band. The name 'Fond Of Rudy' comes from Matt's cat who is named Rudy. Kokopelli The InBrighton Live show from Saturday 2nd November 2013 on RadioReverb, Community Radio for Brighton and Hove, UK In Hopi mythology, Kokopelli was the God of fertility, often depicted with a humpback and playing the flute. Thankfully, neither of the ladies that make up the band Kokopelli fit such a description. Bo Lucas and Hayleigh King concentrate on sultry, seductive interplay between guitar and vocals. Weeping slide guitar by Hayleigh perfectly compliments the country tinged blues that exude from songstress Bo.
