    It's a Podcast, Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown and the gang ruled the comics pages for fifty years. As animated characters, they have appeared in five feature films, eight episodes of "This is America, Charlie Brown" , ten motion comics on iTunes, eighteen episodes of "The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show", and some forty-five TV specials. On this podcast, we're going to watch them all. Then we'll talk about what we liked, what we didn't. Remember, of all the Charlie Browns in world, you're the Charlie Browniest.

We're checking out "The Snoopy Show" S3, episode 11 and "Peanuts by Schulz" episode "A Day With Snoopy". Then since it's March, we look at This Month in Peanuts History...for March!

111: FRANKLIN FINALLY FINDS THE BEAT

Hey, Peanuts fans! It's episode 111! Like, "Hey! We're #1!" but three times!

And it very well could be. We've got in this episode: news and feeback for February; a Random Strip of the Month; and a discussion of the new Apple TV+ special "Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin".

Does it get better than that? I doublt it.

110: HOLD ONTO YOUR MARBLES...IT'S PEANUTS!

Look to the sky and hold onto your marbles! It's episode 110 of IT'S A PODCAST, CHARLIE BROWN. Then write a thank you note to your grandmother. Of course, she'll be confused because she's not a podcaster. I mean, probably.

Anyway. In this episode, we've got THE SNOOPY SHOW, S3, episode 10. We also check out a PEANUTS BY SCHULZ episode titled "Being Nice" and look back at This Month in Peanuts History.

Now you all be nice and check out the episode. (See what I did there?"

    107: AUTHOR WILLIAM JOHNSON RETURNS

Another holiday season is upon us. In episode 107, instead of going out to find a scraggly little tree that just needs a little love, I found author William Johnson (The Complete History of Peanuts on Parade: A Tribute to Charles M. Schulz) and dragged him inside instead. We have a wide-ranging discussion of Peanut-y goodness. A panoply of Peanuts, if you will.

We also look at this month in Peanuts news and enjoy a Random Strip of the Month.

Not a bad way to spend this holiday month. Join us!

106: HAPPINESS IS WHAT HAPPINESS IS

It's the holiday season! Who better to spend it with than Snoopy! It would be weird if "The Snoopy Show" said "Bert and Ernie" or something (not that I don't love them too). Fortunately, they went with the beagle and we're checking out Season 3, episode 13 (Yes, we're skipping some episodes. We'll fix it later.) "Happiness is Holiday Traditions".

We also check out a "Peanuts by Schulz" episode called "Just for Love" and revisit This Month in Peanuts History.

101: THE SNOOPY SHOW S3, Ep 4 - A CELEBRATION OF SNAIL MAIL, APPARENTLY

In 101, we check out "The Snoopy Show", S3, episode 4 - which is apparently a celebration of all things snail mail. Rememer snail mail? Kids, go ask your parents. The plot of each story in the episode hinges on at least one letter sent through regular ol' US Mail. Coincidence? Yeah, probably. Or maybe not...hmmm.

We've also got a "Random Strip of the Month", plus your feedback on peanut-y things and news from the world of Peanuts!

    99: IT'S A DYSTOPIA, CHARLIE BROWN

    Good grief!

Episode 99 features the usual root beer-and-pizza level joy: news from the Peanuts universe, a Random Strip of the Month - this time from friend of the podcast and series director for "The Snoopy Show" Rob Boutilier.

    And then....

Recently, I read Monte Schulz's 2022 novel "Metropolis". Since the remit of this podcast is anything and everything in AND around the "Peanuts" universe, I decided that was close enough. So let's talk about it!

98: Does "The Snoopy Show" Series Director Rob Boutilier Regret Being a Listener?

So, occasionally on the podcast, I speak directly to the series director of the Apple TV+ series "The Snoopy Show" Rob Boutilier.

And it turns out he was listening.

And he said he'd be happy to come on the podcast.

And he did! On this very episode! Episode 98! And I do my best to make him not regret that!

Listen and see if I pulled it off.

    94 - CHARACTER STUDY: SHERMY

    94 - CHARACTER STUDY: SHERMY

When you think of Peanuts, what's the first thing that comes to mind?

    Wrong!

Obviously, the answer is Shermy! The OG Peanuts superstar! Peanuts wouldn't exist without him. If that October 2, 1950 strip was just a boy and girl silently watch a round-headed kid walk by, also silently, it's unlikely Peanuts would have become the cultural icon it is today. I mean, at least Shermy thinks so probably.

In this episode, we take a few minutes to break down who Shermy Plepler was and his impact (Or lack thereof. Let's be honest.) on the strip.

We also look at This Month in Peanuts History for June and watch another "Peanuts by Schulz" titled "The Mysteries of Love".
