    James Rust is a founder of The Pay Index – a startup which has spun off Leathwaite, focused on careers and pay data. Prior to Leathwaite, James spent two years with Armstrong International with the remit to build a search business focused on finance and operations within investment banking and asset management. Before this he spent five years working in recruitment, successfully building a similarly aligned team, eventually numbering 30, at Robert Walters.

    In recent years, the world has become more volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous – in other words VUCA. It’s a challenge for leaders to navigate through a diversity of challenges that continually come our way – from the Covid Pandemic, Cost of Living Challenges, Issues of Diversity, the impact of the war in Ukraine, workers, strikes the complexities and contradictions that come with new technology, mental health and what have you.

    Key is to turn things away as with every challenge and situation there are opportunities – opportunities to take the volatility and create vision, the uncertainty and build understand, to develop clarity from the complexity and agility from the ambiguity.

    This is where the Leading in a Mosaic World podcast comes to play.

    Mosaic in recognition of a world which is diverse in every sense of the word, a diverse world in which it’s of crucial important to leverage the value and contributions that everyone has to make – because different people hold different pieces to the jigsaw puzzle. Engaging collaboratively, we develop Mosaics which yield productivity and fulfilment for everyone in whatever context a leader may be faced with.
