Fields of Dreams and Chasing Teams!

Fields of Dreams and Chasing Teams!
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. On this week's edition of Line Drive Radio, Tab and Paul did their best to not be too corny when discussing the Field of Dreams game between the Cubs and Reds in Iowa. While the teams won't be as competitive as last year's edition between the White Sox and Yankees, the nostalgia the game - and location - provide is still iconic and exciting. The boys also walked around the league and gave some flowers to the Baltimore Orioles, who weren't supposed to be a contending team (yet) this season but are now tied for a wild card berth. Who would have thought the Baltimore Orioles would be fighting for a playoff spot in 2022? The playoff races have also been costly to some, including now-former Detroit Tigers GM Al Avila who lost his job this week. We discuss which other GMs might feel the seat heater turning on as the season continues. Stay tuned for this week's LDR Fantasy Add of the Week! And, as always, play ball! To Trade or Not to Trade and a Tale About Cooperstown

To Trade or Not to Trade and a Tale About Cooperstown
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Welcome back, baseball fans! After Tab spent a week in beautiful Cooperstown, the boys are back on the mic talking all things baseball. After the Mariners kicked off the trading frenzy with a late Friday night blockbuster deal to acquire Luis Castillo from Cincinnati, the guys talked about how teams will approach the trade deadline on Aug. 2 and which teams need to go for it. They also spent a little time as dads discussing the joys of watching their sons play the game. After the tournament in Cooperstown was the climax to his son playing with a great group of boys for four years, Tab shared how much the game can mean and how the relationships off the field can mean more than the wins, home runs and strikeouts. Hang around for this week's unique LDR Fantasy Add of the Week as well! Play ball! Follow everywhere @linedriveradio

MLB Top 100, Alcantara, Astros Stay Hot, Mariners Rodriguez Romps and the Same Old Mets.

MLB Top 100, Alcantara, Astros Stay Hot, Mariners Rodriguez Romps and the Same Old Mets.
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Welcome to July, where most teams are crossing the mid-way point of the 2022 season. The guys look at an updated Top 100 prospects list, discuss the dominance of Miami's Sandy Alcantara and give the Astros some flowers for their recent run of incredible play. This week's good goes to Tab's preseason American League Rookie of the Year pick, Julio Rodriguez. He's absolutely crushing the ball right now and making history along the way. Could he be a 30-30 guy as a rookie? It's looking increasingly likely. The bad this week discusses the Mets inability to run away with the National League East -- again. And, as always, stay tuned for this week's Line Drive Radio Fantasy Add of the Week. Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.

Astros Sign Alvarez, Ides of June Upon Mets, Girardi and Maddon Sacked!

Astros Sign Alvarez, Ides of June Upon Mets, Girardi and Maddon Sacked!
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Welcome to June, where All-Star ballots are available and managers start getting fired. After discussing the nice, new deal Houston gave Yordan Álvarez and the impressive improvement from Seattle's stud rookie Julio Rodríguez, the guys spent some time on the two major league managers who filed for unemployment in the last week. On our previous show, the Phillies were The Bad because of their brutal stretch of play and Joe Girardi being on the hot seat. Well, Girardi got canned and the Phils haven't lost since. So we tip our cap to them as this week's The Good. The Bad this week is the Angels, who let Joe Maddon go after losing 12 straight games (now 14). Things are bad in Anaheim, but - as we said last week with the Phillies - is it the manager's fault or the roster he's been given that doesn't work? And what will they do for a permanent manager in both Philadelphia and Los Angeles of Anaheim? Stay tuned for this week's LDR Fantasy Add of the Week. Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.

Jeter Does Twitter, Blue Jays Roll, Mile High Scores and the State of Baseball in Pennsylvania.

Jeter Does Twitter, Blue Jays Roll, Mile High Scores and the State of Baseball in Pennsylvania.
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Welcome to June! The calendar has moved to the third month of the MLB season and we're starting to see some teams heating up. Toronto is hot, winners of seven straight and trying to chase down the Yankees. And the balls were flying in Denver in a double-header on Wednesday that produced 40 total runs. Tab and Paul spent some time in the state of Pennsylvania this week for the good and the bad. The good this week has been the bad more frequently than we would like to admit, but when the Pirates go into Dodger Stadium and sweep a three-game set with the Dodgers we have to give them their flowers. Good for you, Bucs! On the flip side of the page, the Phillies are a dumpster fire and manager Joe Girardi's seat is warming. Should he be the scapegoat for their problems? Should the GM bear the blame for their flawed roster? Or do they need to consider big moves after going all-in this past winter? Stay tuned for this week's fantasy add of the week. As always, play ball! Follow everywhere @linedriveradio.

Youth Gone Wild, Drama in the Bronx, Parity .vs Mediocrity and is Bryant a Bust?

Youth Gone Wild, Drama in the Bronx, Parity .vs Mediocrity and is Bryant a Bust?
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford. Youth Gone Wild, Drama in the Bronx, Parity .vs Mediocrity and is Bryant a Bust? On this week's episode, the guys jump in to discuss the young faces making an impact around the American League. Adley Rutschman, Bobby Witt, Jr, Spencer Torkelson and Julio Rodríguez have had their share of ups and downs, but the top four preseason prospects in baseball are making their presence known. Fans in Baltimore, Kansas City, Detroit and Seattle should be buying tickets just to see these young guys play now and into the future. The flip side was in New York, where the Yankees continue to dominate but drama has crept into their season. Injuries piled up this week in the wake of the Josh Donaldson-Tim Anderson feud and the story of the 2022 Pinstripes took a left turn. How will Donaldson reconcile his comments in the clubhouse? And how will they perform with so many key players on the shelf? Stay tuned for this week's LDR Fantasy Add of the Week. Salute to our service members and enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend! Toronto Trouble, Reds Lose No-No and are Contreras and Cubs at Crossroads?

Toronto Trouble, Reds Lose No-No and are Contreras and Cubs at Crossroads?

Line Drive Radio - Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.

Welcome to the middle of May, baseball fans! For some teams - especially in New York - the year has been a fun start. For others, it hasn't been great. Tab and Paul jump off to start the week discussing youth baseball culture and then turn their attention to the Cincinnati Reds, who threw a no-hitter - and lost... to the Pirates. The guys also discuss the ugly injury to Houston's Jake Odorizzi on Monday night and Kansas City's decision to make a change on the bench, firing their hitting coach (yes, Terry Bradshaw. No, not that Terry Bradshaw).

This week, the good is a celebration of Cubs' backstop Willson Contreras reaching the 100 home run plateau in his career. He's only the third Cubs' catcher to reach the mark, and did it with a grand slam on Monday night. The four-run jack capped an 8-run inning for the Cubs; Contreras became the first player in more than 60 years with a grand slam and another extra base hit in the first inning of a game.

The bad looked at the struggling offense in Toronto. No, not the Maple Leafs - the Blue Jays have been surprisingly underwhelming this year. In a tough American League East, they need to get on track before the Yankees run away and the Rays separate themselves in the playoff race.

Shonuff Shohei, Ump Etiquette, Rotten Reds, 2K Dusty and Yanks at Hockey Games!

Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there who are keeping kids on the diamonds across this beautiful country! In this week's episode of Line Drive Radio, Tab and Paul chat about Dusty Baker's milestone, the Yankees chugging beverages at a playoff hockey game and an umpire with too much hubris making a scene.

The good this week was the remarkable, unprecedented performance by Shohei Ohtani in Boston on Thursday. Want history? He made a lot of it in arguably his best pitching performance as a major leaguer. The bad was pretty easy to find: it's in Cincinnati, and it's baaaad. The Reds are off to a historically bad start this season. Is there an end to their putrid play in sight? And who's fault is it that they're this bad?

Stay tuned for the weekly fantasy add of the week. We'll keep your fantasy roster stocked all season!

Acuña Returns, Twins Surprise, Yankees Cheat, Mets and Cards Brawl and What's with the MLB draft?

Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.

Line Drive Radio roles into the end of April with a bang! This week the boys got out the Festivus pole and aired some grievances. The Yankees' letter was released, the Mets and Cardinals threw baseball - and hands - and players are complaining about the consistency and quality of the baseball. What gives?

Not everything in the game is bad, however. Ronald Acuña Jr. returned for Atlanta on Thursday, but we had to grab a tissue when Willson and William Contreras shed a tear or two exchanging the lineup cards before the Cubs and Braves took the field. And in Minnesota, the Twins have been red hot lately and have taken control of the American League Central.

Mets First to 10, Cabrera Gets Booned, Athletics Pathetic Home Issues and More!

Mets First to 10, Cabrera Gets Booned, Athletics Pathetic Home Issues and More!

Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford

We're now two weeks into the 2022 MLB season and we've seen some exciting performances on the field. The Cleveland Guardians are in first place, the New York Mets are the first team to reach 10 wins and four of the five teams in the National League West have won at least eight games entering Friday. There's been plenty of big scores and fun performances already this year!

Tab and Paul dig in and discuss the greatness of Miguel Cabrera as he approaches 3,000 career hits. How exclusive is the company he's in? The number of other players who have done what he's accomplished in the big leagues is incredibly small. The respect for Miggy is universal -- to the point that Aaron Boone didn't want to let him try for his 3,000th hit with the game on the line in the eighth inning in Detroit on Thursday. The guys have thoughts on Boone's free pass...

They also spent a few minutes discussing the ugly situation in Oakland. The A's had less than 6,500 fans at two home games this week -- total. With ownership flirting with moving the team to Las Vegas and the front office trading away their best players once again this winter, can you blame the fans for not showing up or paying for tickets? Does this situation have a resolution in Oakland or does a divorce need to happen?

Hang with us for Tab's fantasy add of the week at the end of the show. Which first baseman should you keep an eye on to help your offense?

    Thank you for listening.
