“You can’t have your cake and eat it too.” This popular proverb literally means “you cannot retain possession of a cake and eat it, too.” Once the cake is eaten, it’s gone forever. Another way to say this is “you can’t have it both ways.” In the early church, many early believers were treating their newfound faith in this fashion, where popular culture and false teaching were undermining Jesus’ way. That as long as my thinking was good, my behavior was no big deal; as long as my spiritual soul was good, the sins of my earthly body did not matter. The Apostle John in his letter, 1 John, warned the early church of this kind of bifurcated thinking. Today Christians can still be susceptible to this wrong kind of living. Sound doctrine goes hand and hand with sound lifestyle. Come explore together 1 John and see how Jesus wants us to be. This is the Way!

And because we are being watched, we need to be loving and compasionate which the world will accept but what happens when it doesn't? While we treat the world with a tendeheart but still receive harm for being followers of Jesus Christ? In today's message, Peter talks about when our goodness meets the world's grievnaces.....
