While Christianity was once respected in our culture, even among those who did not claim to be Christians, we are now living at a time in history where Christianity is viewed negatively at worst and with suspicion at best! Do you ever lose your focus? It can be easy in a world with so many distractions to lose sight of the reason we are doing all that we are doing. We can go through the motions and get some things done, but without a clear focus, we will never accomplish all that we can or should. I believe that one of the reasons so many people struggle to move forward in their lives is because of a lack of forgiveness. We have all been hurt. That, unfortunately, is a part of being human. We cannot avoid being hurt, but when we learn how to forgive those that have done the hurting we are able to move forward into the life that God has created us to live. During this holiday season we know that we are supposed to be thankful. One of the big lessons that I have been learning over the last few weeks is that comparing myself to others is an empty exercise. When I see what others are doing it can, if I am not careful, make me feel as though I am not doing enough. What all of us should do, though, is ask the questions, "Am I doing all that I can, with what I have, where I am?"
