    Mental-Hell

The Mental Hell podcast delves into the profound topics of mental health and life's challenges with a touch of humor, infusing earnest conversations with a sprinkle of wit and laughter. Because why shouldn't healing come with a side of chuckles?

As the host, I have a deeply personal connection to mental health, having experienced depression and anxiety, burnout, and the use of alcohol to relieve life's stresses.  In 2018, I hit rock bottom, leading to a life-altering awakening prompted by my doctor's advice to get healthy or die not trying. Knowing I had no other option but to pick myself up, I learned tools to embrace life, find balance, and thrive both professionally and personally.  I discovered healthier stress management techniques, resulting in a more fulfilling life.

By sharing my story, I aim to inspire others to prioritize their mental wellness journey.

From Burnout to Balance: How The Journal That Talks Back™ is Changing the Game for Millennials and Gen Z in the Workplace

From Burnout to Balance: How The Journal That Talks Back™ is Changing the Game for Millennials and Gen Z in the Workplace

In a podcast interview on the Mental-Hell podcast, host Barbie Moreno speaks with Jonathan Friedman from The Journal That Talks Back™ about the mental health challenges faced by Millennials and Gen Z in the current pandemic. Shockingly, by age 25, around 20% of young adults will have developed a mental illness, with few preventative measures in place to address this issue.

Recruiting, retention, and engagement are among the top threats to companies in 2022, with attrition rates reaching over 20% in 2021 alone. Burnout has become a major concern, with 59% of millennials and 58% of Gen Z experiencing burnout due to workplace stressors, financial stressors, and mental health concerns.

The cost of turnover is a significant issue for companies, with the average cost of replacing millennials and Gen Z employees being around 40% of their annual salary, in addition to the cost of hiring and training new staff. The high cost of therapy, counselling, and coaching appointments is also a major barrier to accessing mental healthcare, with 33% of people citing it as their biggest obstacle to seeking help.

During their discussion, Barbie and Jonathan address how The Journal That Talks Back™ offers a unique solution to support young professionals' mental wellness, by providing daily and unlimited coaching through an AI-powered journaling app. Clients can journal anytime, anywhere, and receive a response from their coach within 24 hours, without the need for an appointment. The app is a valuable resource for companies committed to supporting their employees' mental health and well-being.
