Ep26 Happy Pride Lezzzz Be Honest

In celebration of Happy Pride, the next three episodes are dedicated to "Coming Out" stories.

Theresa Vitale is a Los Angeles based Cinematographer. At 10yrs old Theresa knew she was attracted to women, but it was during her freshmen year of college that she decided to tell her Mom, which Theresa says constitutes her coming out story.

In this episode, in impromptu fashion, Theresa's beautiful bride-to-be Heidi happens to walk in the room while we are recording and to our surprise gets on mic with us and weighs in on the conversation by sharing her own story. A huge namaste and thank you to Heidi and Theresa. Aaaaand a huge congratulations to Theresa's sister Roseanne and the birth of her new baby girl Anastasia.

Ep25 Joe Pacella: Metallica & The Room.

Ep25 Joe Pacella: Metallica & The Room.

In this episode, Joe Pacella talks about his love for Metallica as well as working on the cult movie "The Room".

Joe loves Metallica. He loves Metallica enough to have seen them 91 times (and counting). Joe owns 700+ wearable Metallica items; 450 of those being concert tshirts. In 2013, Joe won a contest called The Ultimate Metallica Giveaway. He submitted a photo of himself in the middle of an auditorium surrounded by all his tshirts and he won. He was flown to Detroit, given a guitar from the band, and attended a meet and greet.

Joe first started listening to Metallica in 1985 in Germany where he grew up and his first concert was in 1987. Joe often travels to international shows with two Norwegian friends whom he calls The Vikings. Joe also is the only person I've ever met who has worked on the cult film "The Room" directed by oddly famed Tommy Wiseau. Joe loves "The Room". Or should I say he loves to hate "The Room" since three times he tried to quit but the film wouldn't quit him. Joe works in the film industry and has worked on shows like The Closer, Nip/Tuck, 24, Glee, and Code Black.

    Ep22 Thanksgiving with Gage Agnew

    Ep22 Thanksgiving with Gage Agnew

In the spirit of Rodney Dangerfield's "What's a bath without bubbles?" What's Thanksgiving without Gage?

Gage Agnew is co-host of the Almost Adults Podcast and a very generous co-host at that. Gage and I talk about his moving to Los Angeles at 21 not knowing a soul, going on the WTF Podcast and asking Marc Maron what the line is between networking and talent, and ultimately carving out a creative and relational life in the City of Angels. We also talk about Gage's sweating, men being dominating at grocery stores, and whether or not Gage relates to being a Millennial. A big shout out to Thank You Internet Podcast for the use of their sound bites.

Not only does Do love LA, she also spends time regularly praying for the city and the artists that reside within. Originally from South Korea, Do is part of the 1.5 generation; kids who immigrate before their teens. And though the city of LA is not her homeland, Do takes full ownership of it. Always speaking a blessing over the businesses and the people even in the midst of traffic.

    Ep10 Life Of Purpose

For 30 years, Sal Valdez worked in Education for the LA Unified School District before suffering a major stroke causing him to reimagine his life.

Sal spent 15 years working as an elementary school teacher and 15 more in special education. While some teachers brought their briefcases to school, Sal brought his guitar. He played music and read a lot to his students. He also prided himself on letting each student know he cared for them. It wasn’t unusual for Sal to make a home visit just to spend time talking with the parents and getting to know them. Sal was also very involved with community organizing. He held a position with the teachers union where he got to work on policy. He was also a marathon runner and an avid hiker. Sal felt he was at the apex of his career when in 2006 while on vacation with his wife Martha in the Sequoias he suffered a massive stroke.
