    Navy by Nature

The Official Podcast of Pro UNC Alternate Uniform Enthusiasts and Critics of the Bachelor/Bachelorette Okay, so we're just two guys that like to watch and talk about UNC sports and Bachelor/ette. The problem is that Julian is in grad school at FSU, and Gray works in Raleigh. So we're using this podcast to surmounting the geographic chasm so we can continue to talk about the stuff we like to talk about, and apparently (as a pleasant side-effect) bring you entertaining commentary. iTunes link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/navy-by-nature/id496955969?ign-mpt=uo%3D4 Email us!!! navybynature@gmail.com Twitter: @NavyByNature for updates And write comments on the site too, to let us know what you think of our opinions.

Yeah, it's back... and we are too. Julian and Gray break down ep.1 in all its glory, and give their way way too early picks for this season's winning lady. Intern Lori also stops by for a quick visit to add her $0.02.

Emily crying. Yes. Julian and Gray talk about it, in depth. What did we think about the way she handled the fantasy suite? What does her not giving Arie the card mean for next week??? Why did she want to turn Jef down before he turned her down? Did that move help Jef? What would Doug have done if presented the card? Who's in first? Does Julian still think Sean is the best option for Emily? We think Emily will accept a proposal, but will she actually get married to Jef or Arie? If she does, how long will it last? Over/Under set at 2 years (shout out to Mark Z.). Which of Arie/Jef would Julian and I rather have a beer with. What, that boat?!?!?! NO way !?!?! That's so cool. It should be a lot of fun. WE'RE RADIO PROFESSIONALS!!! And finally, who's gonna win Emily's heart... even if it's just for a a few months?

We celebrate our independence to post almost completely irrelevant content on the world-wide web free from the rule a tyrant. Is this the closest final 3 in recent memory? We think so. We also make wild speculations about Jef's family being mormon and the implications thereof. Oh yeah, Chris lost. Obviously. But the three left... we give predictions: who's on the rise, who's on the decline, did the families matter, who's in first place here. Who's going home on Monday, and/or is Emily going to have a nervous breakdown from here on out on this season. Then some final EURO wrap-up: what we learned, and even what we should expect in Brazil! Get excited about Olympic coverage coming up next week!

Bach-ette: Julian and Gray pay their final respects to the two contestants that they knew were going to get kicked off this week - with a special best wishes to sensitive Doug. Then they discuss the Big 3 jockeying for position, predict the implications of the home town dates, and Julian makes a bold prediction that sees one of the front-runners out next week. (44 min) EURO 2012: a little game recap, a little gloating over our incredibly accurate predictions from last week, a little discussion of who's been the best man on the field so far, and of course extreme, in-depth, multiple contingency predictions of the semis and final. It's everything you could want from a EURO recap by two random viewers with no clear credentials.

Probably our most complete podcast ever. You're gonna want to listen to this. The Bach-ette: Julian and Gray discuss the intricacies of this episode, debate the intentions of Arie's blitzkrieg (word choice explained in episode), and further acknowledge the legitimacy of this show trying to set up Emily with a successful future relationship. They also dive into the business marketing aspects of this highly popular show, discussing both Disney Pixar's "Brave" and the Croatian Tourism Commission's investments and their pay-out (or lack there of). 40 Min Mark - Bridging the Gap - This is where the uniqueness of this podcast really shines. If you're a fan of both the Bach-ette and have been keeping up with EURO 2012 - you'll love it. Julian and Gray take the 8 contestants left at the start of this episode and examine which of the EURO 2012 quarterfinal teams they best resemble. Big debate here. Who's your Germany? Arie? Sean? Sleeper...? 62:30 Mark - Purely Soccer commentary - Break-down of each group and the two survivors. An in-depth look at each quarterfinal matchup. Which is most likely to be a blowout? Does Greece have any chance against Spain? Is the England-Italy game destined for PKs? And Julian shows his true "self-loathing, and yet still hopeful" England fandom. He's such a Doug. Oh yeah, we talk a little UNC sports too.

The Bachette - Julian and Gray hypothesize that this season of the Bachelorette has been so immensely boring because ABC has actually been taking it seriously. Of course, they identify the "heavy hitters" and make predictions of who'll be standing at the end, beaming from the realization that they've gained a life of baking cookies and and taking juice boxes to soccer practice. ~40 min mark - EURO!!! Julian and Gray recap the first round, predict survivors of each group. They identify the teams that shined in their openers, and those that could make a deep run. Also debate best goal of the tourney thus far, plus much much more.

Monstrous podcast. Julian and Gray talk college bball including how UNC is shaping up for next year and the breaking Baylor investigation. Then (around the 30 min mark) they dive into the Raleigh MLS soccer team branding contest and all applicants. What did people come up with? What ideas did Julian and Gray like the best? Raleigh or Carolina, or neither!? Flight, Rebels, Falcon, City of the Oaks - lot's of names and brands to consider. And finally (around 1:30 mark) we end with a quick conversational question to each other.

The first of a two-set hodgepodge before Bach Pad comes on, Julian and Gray talk about the Heels exit from the NCAA tourney, a little about the returning players, and then detail Navy By Nature's coverage of Euro 2012 and the summer Olympics in London. They finish with a few generic conversation topics, where they decide in a life or death survival situation that they would rather eat an infant than an elderly person. Enjoy!

Julian and Gray take a look back at the 1st and 2nd (er... 2nd and 3rd) round of the 2012 NCAA tournament and see how their picks shook out. Then the break down the remaining field, with (as expected) in-depth coverage of the Heels, including how far they think the boys can go with and without Kendall Marshall.

Talk about our path to Big Easy. And then talk picks for the whole thing. What else could you guys want. Seriously... let us know by emailing us or commenting here.

Julian and Gray provide a brief(?) breakdown of the women "tell" all episode.  Is Courtney sincerely apologetic during the episode?  If so, what for exactly?  Why don't the women ask her some actual questions instead of just berating her?  Do we still like Emily after finidng out that she went to duke for undergrad?  Why don't the women ask Ben some actual penetrating questions instead of just asking him why they dumped them?  Why don't any of them understand that they're on a reality game show and not in a typical real life dating scenario? (30:35) Then the train rolls on to UNC bball.  What exactly did we learn about the Heels from their dismantling of duke on Saturday?  What's their approach going into the ACC tourney this wknd in ATL?  Would a loss this weekend help, hurt, or not impact this team?  Who would you rather UNC play in the final: duke or FSU?  Then a discussion breaks out about All ACC teams and individual awards, that eventually ends up in Julian and Gray getting into a fight abotu who would win a 1 on 1 game between Tanner Smith and Justin Watts.   Enjoy yourselves.

Julian and Gray kick of a new month, by doing a little catching up and covering two weeks worth of action, using a new format that will hopefully be more engaging. In the first segment they discuss the last two episodes of the Bachelor, which have been pretty bland to be honest.  But rest assured they find plenty to comment on. In the second segment, they provide a solid breakdown of the Heels' play over the last 4 games and discuss how they're shaping up for a run in March.  Then they take a significant amount of time to disucuss uniform happenings of late (both bball and football) - and there have been plenty. Hope you guys enjoy.
