    NERDISODES 30 - "Con Air"

    NERDISODES 30 - "Con Air"

    "You know what I am...?"

    "Ugly all day."

Con Air may be David's all time guilty pleasure movie. Not a lot of logic, not the best acting, and some of the actors hated making the movie.  This Ambush Episode David makes Monica watch CON AIR.

"Sorry boss, but there's only two men I trust. One of them's me. The other's not you."

It has one of his favorite actors: M. C. Gainey.  He plays the character "Swamp Thing."

    NERSDISODE 26 - “A New Hope – Part 1”

    NERSDISODE 26 - “A New Hope – Part 1”

Now, we talk with someone who has never seen Star Wars before (Kate) and what she thinks it will be about. We ask her about her expectations, what order all the Star Wars Movies should be in, and run some names by her … even though she has never seen them.

Part 2 will be *after* she has watched Star Wars: A New Hope

    NERDISODE 25 – “HSM – Part 2”

    NERDISODE 25 – “HSM – Part 2”

We’ve NOW seen High School Musical for the first time …and listen to David Nerd Rage!  Not really. It hits the mark, and the person who champions the movie (Kate) is the England even though the movie takes place in the United States.

And Ms. Darbus is a just a weaker version of Professor Umbridge.

    (someone had to say it)

    NERDISODE 25 – “HSM – Part 1”

    NERDISODE 25 – “HSM – Part 1”

Our friend, Kate Swift (Mischief Managed Improv) joins us for a MOVIE MATCH OFF.  We pit two movies against each other. One Kate has never seen, and one Monica and I have never seen.

    We watched: HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

Monica and I have never seen this one. This first part is what Monica and I *think* High School Musical will be about.

NERDISODE 23 – “Best Episode to Watch in These Times #Covid19 - PART 1”

NERDISODE 23 – “Best Episode to Watch in These Times #Covid19 - PART 1”

Whenever we have David Elliott on, you know it’s going to be a good Nerdisode.  It’s like when Jack Harkness is on  Doctor Who, or when Bubba Duck was on Ducktales, or when Q was on Star Trek: Next Generation.  Those were the ones you wanted to watch!

We’re all on lockdown and #Covid19 is keeping us from gathering in groups.  So, this Nerdisodes is about the “Best Episode to Watch in These Times #Covid19.”

David goes really light hearted (with a twist) and brings out Chip n Dale’s Rescue Rangers – the intro alone gets you bopping along. Only this episode is about the Coocoo Cola Cult. Fun, with twists and a great female lead episode.  Gadget is a warrior princess.

Monica picks a fan favorite and goes to one of the Halloween episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. What a well written and cast show. Such a strong ensemble.

These light hearted and wholesome shows are great to watch now and in the future. Stay safe everyone!

NOTE: this was a longer episode so it had to be broken down in 2 Parts + there was a clicking in the first recording, so we had to re-do the second part.

    NERDISODE 22 – “Best Reboot”

    NERDISODE 22 – “Best Reboot”

In honor of the New Year we talk about which TV Series we think is the best reboot. And honestly, it was tough …

Monica picks Sabrina from Netflix, a new dark re-telling of the 1996 series. Which is then a retelling of the comic book series!  It is good.

There was a lot to choose from, but a new series on David’s radar, Titans, got his vote.  The Titans is a dark reboot of the cartoon, which then is a reboot of the comic book.

Netflix is just KILLING it right now!

NERDISODE 21 – “Best TV Series of All Time”

NERDISODE 21 – “Best TV Series of All Time”

David brings the heat and asks the DaM Studios “what is the best TV series of all time.”

David talks about the people in his neighborhood with all the diversity, creativity, education and hard hitting topics of Sesame Street.  They discuss death, 9/11, children with incarcerated parents but they also do parodies of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and others. It’s a truly dynamic and iconic show.

Monica picks Twilight Zone. We talk about storytelling and some really strange trivia about the show. Like Rod Serling smoking but not smoking. One of the most parodied TV series of all time, and to this day people still know “picture if you will…”

NERDISODE 20 – “Best Devil: Part One”

NERDISODE 20 – “Best Devil: Part One”

The world spins, and you have to spin with it.

Monica challenges the DaM Studios with which TV episode had the best devil.

Monica picks one of her recent favorite TV Series, Lucifer. Tom Ellis’ portrayal of Lucifer and how the series conveys it allows us to talk about “sexy people” and cop shows.

David goes more literal, and picks someone who may be a real devil. He picks the real life person, Jim Jones.  Jim Jones was the cult leader who began the People’s Temple and moved them to Brazil where he convinced 900 people to commit suicide. So David picked, Inside the Criminal Mind, a Netflix original, focuses on cult leaders.

    NERDISODE 19 – “Best Shoes”

    NERDISODE 19 – “Best Shoes”

    “Sashay, you stay”

David brought forth the Nerdisode Challenge: which TV episode had the best shoes.

David finally brings in one of his favorite series (yes, another cartoon) Rick &Morty. In the first episode  Marty has gravity cancelling shoes! They talk about fan theories and misophonia.

Monica rises to the challenge and brings in a GREAT series Ru Paul’s Drag Race!  We talk about our time in West Hollywood, the challenges for people who dress in drag, and also about Ru Paul. Ru Paul is such an amazing and inspirational person.

    Wubbalubbadubdub!

NERISODE 18: SEASON FINALE, PART ONE – “It.”

NERISODE 18: SEASON FINALE, PART ONE – “It.”

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

It’s our Finale of Season 2!  Woot!  Thank you for listening and following.

This episode we ask our friend Ed Dale to offer up one of his all-time favorite movies, and it’s IT.  Such a great choice for Halloween, but also lots to talk about in the Stephen King Mythos.  We talk about personal scary experiences and also some movie facts about IT.  Did you know it is the highest grossing Stephen King movie of all time?

So much to talk about we split it into two episodes. Enjoy Part One of … IT.

NERDISODES 17 – “Episode that F—ked You Up"

NERDISODES 17 – “Episode that F—ked You Up"

Last episode got us talking about terrifying moments in TV so Monica was inspired to challenge us this time with episode of TV that just MESSED with our FRAGILE MINDS.

Monica picks an EXCELLENT series which we just discovered called Inside No. 9.  Incredible writing across the board, in every single episode.  But she specifically picked”12 Days of Christine.”  Such amazing storytelling.

David picks an episode he had JUST talked about … perhaps the darkest moment in a fictional TV series … HOME from the X-Files.

    Get ready to be disturbed.

    NERDISODES 16 – “Most Frightening F---ing Episode”

    NERDISODES 16 – “Most Frightening F---ing Episode”

We talk so much evil, demon, spirits, and real life ghost encounters.  We pride ourselves on being honest so these stories and experiences we share are 100% honest.

David picks a little known anthology TV series from Canada called Fear Itself. Meant to be sort of the “horror version” of the Twilight Zone, there are a few episodes that are worth mentioning, but we talk about the pilot episode which is a classic monster episode told really well.

Monica goes supernatural and picks Supernatural.  Loved the episode so much … we have since decided to binge watch the entire 14 season series with 300+ episodes. Such a great dynamic between Dean and Sam (and their car).

We also talk about our own personal horror/scary experiences.
