Number One With A Bullet

For the final episode of the podcast(!), Andrew has a little surprise in store for Dan. First, a brief visit to the world-changing year of 2001, followed by a bit of subterfuge, a meme, and a soulful young redhead. This week's number one is inescapable. 

All good things must come to an end. Which is why Chuck Berry's juvenile novelty hit about his own penis seems to have never ended. This week, Andrew and Dan discuss...uh...this one. And also, the...uh...kind of stuff Chuck Berry was into. Also, this is...uh...the second to last episode of the podcast.

Ringy dingy ding! That's the sound of a new year being rung. Which of course means Andrew and Dan are going to spend an hour plus talking about LAST year and all their favorite albums. Specifically ten of them. A Top Ten, if you will.

At the height of the hippie movement, when young people couldn't get enough of mop-topped young lads with goofy grins, a couple enterprising young men in Los Angeles were inspired to make their foray into the music scene. And they were fueled by the greatest artistic inspiration of all— a marketing opportunity. This week, we're talking Monkees.

As they burrow deeper into the Christmas Season (aka Oscar Season), Andrew and Dan travel back to the mid-50s for one of the most mid-50s songs there ever was. From the good folks who brought you "Lollipop" and Being Extremely White, it's a song about a sleep demon who gets you a boyfriend. Everybody, put your bunnies back in your respective boxes. Because this week, Andrew and Dan are talking about a classic 1990s love ballad from one of the most romantic movies of all time-- Con Air. We also discuss, fighting the moonlight, another version of this song, and of course Godzilla.

Now that we're all stuff with turkey and fattened up for the holiday season, it's time to gyrate and twist to some truly filthy dancing. With our friends P Swayze and J Grey! Elvis. Ever heard of him? Well, we have to. Mostly from movies and TV and all of music history and also the last three episodes we did on the guy. But guess what? We're doing another one! This week, Andrew and Dan dicuss chicken tenders and how much Elvis love them.

Get that ol' grand piani out of storage because it's time to tickle those ivories. This week, Andrew and Dan take a headlong dive into a pile of dead, dirty leaves, because it's time for fall baby. Time for autumn. Time for turkey. And time for a belated discussion of horror movies. 

Because they care so much about the pod, Andrew and Dan resurrected (read: recreated) their discussion of the seminal 2007 ringtone "Crank That (Soulja Boy)." We've got snaps. We've got steel drums. And we've got superman (that hoe).

Well Ghosts and Ghouls, the spookiest darn thing happened. Andrew and Dan recorded a whole episode that was really funny, included discussion of a stellar movie Killers Of The Flower Moon, and went deep on an iconic viral hit sensation from the 2000s. And then a damn dracula stole it off our computer and broke the file.

In their second visit to 1966 in as many months, Andrew and Dan return to Motor City and the offices Berald (Berry) Gordon (Gordy). He's cooking up another hit with his hit makers, and this one sounds like Bob Dylan plus a horse and a flute...sort of. Enjoy!
