    This bonus episode was recorded at the American Academy of Arts & Science  at  Harvard on April 23rd 1960. Campbell's talk was part of a symposium. At this point in his career, he had written The Hero With A Thousand Faces and the first volume of The Masks of God. In this lecture, he makes some distinctions between the mythology of the East and West while elaborating on the history and development of mythology since the Bronze Age.
