Ep 005 Why you should print your memories

Today we are talking about …. Why you should print your memories

    • So they accessible in the future. You & your grandchildren.
    • So you can walk past every day & smile. It’s a memory jogger.
    • It’s quite nostalgic
    • Home decor. It makes a house a home. A talking point.

Print the photos you love - especially the silly ones.

I’m all for spending your money on making good memories to grow old with. It's as important as paying the gas bill.

Ep 004 Bring your Story to Life

Ep 004 Bring your Story to Life

Bringing your story to life. Or to put it another way - you do need to exist in some photos. It’s too easy to hit delete.

It's for our children to have a solid sense of their past, to be able to snuggle up with their children and laugh at the terrible hairstyle and clothing choices back in 2021. You know that’ll happen!

I think that in bringing our story to life through photographs, we should include the every day - perhaps mundane moments. Probably not the arguments, but I don’t think everything we keep needs to be rose-tinted/Instagram perfect, because life isn’t.

We are just recording our world, so we can look back and smile 10, 20, 30 years down the line & smile at our memories, so include the picnics, birthday parties, and first day back at school photos too.

Ep. 002: The Lost Century of Images

Ep. 002: The Lost Century of Images

Today we are talking about …. The lost century of images

I first heard this phrase at a trade show - probably 6 years ago  — and I fear it may become true.

Most images we take nowadays are not printed. They’re not stored anywhere else other than the device they were taken on. So when the technology breaks or expires, those images may be gone forever.

We just don’t show the same respect to a virtual image as to something tangible. By the time we realise its value, it’s often too late. So what can be done about it?

    Ep 001 The Shoebox Relatives

    Ep 001 The Shoebox Relatives

This episode is all about 'The shoebox relatives'. Essentially old family photos stored in a box.

We’ve all got them …. I hope... Sometimes they go back 2 or 3 generations. Some are more contemporary. What will our relatives discover in the loft in 20 years' time? Does this digital era mean we have already lost the photos of the future?

Sue Kennedy your host, is a baby & family photographer capturing those early memories for parents with 18 plus years of experience.

She is really passionate about helping, and inspiring you to tell your family’s story in photographs.

Especially the everyday memories, by encouraging you to print the ones you love, and basically do more with your memories than stuff them in a shoebox!

Join Sue as She explores different ways of preserving memories, and why that’s good for your child’s self-esteem.

It’s important that the story behind the photograph is told, and shared.

Plus we’ll occasionally hear the story behind a guest’s treasured photograph

Sue is approaching this as a daughter who inherited various boxes of photographs, mostly without any notes on them, and as a mother who decided to capture the everyday family moments as much as the big moments with the camera, Sue always has with her (her phone), and print the best.
