ABOUT A DONKEY AND TARGETING YOUR FILM FESTS with CongestedCat's Christina Raia and Kelsey Rauber!

ABOUT A DONKEY AND TARGETING YOUR FILM FESTS with CongestedCat's Christina Raia and Kelsey Rauber!

ABOUT A DONKEY is the latest feature from the powerhouse duo of Christina Raia and Kelsey Rauber, long time friends, collaborators and co-owners of CongestedCat Productions. We talk about both their artistic processes, Christina's insanely organized color-coated calendar, as well as their new film and how they strategically brought it to audiences through a successful (and targeted) film festival run.

    ABOUT, ABOUT A DONKEY:

About a Donkey follows the Owens family: Ann & Tim, their 3 adult children, Cecilia, Burgh, and Annie (and her husband Paul), and matriarch Farrah. When Tim brings home a donkey in a mixture of wanting to rescue both it and himself, all of the characters' lives are shaken up and pushed forward.

    ABOUT CONGESTED CAT:

CongestedCat Productions is an award winning narrative production company that is very active in the New York independent film scene. Our monthly screening series IndieWorks, now in its seventh year, has screened over 250 local filmmakers. Founder Christina Raia’s motivation was to create a sense of community amongst local filmmakers where they could make connections and find collaborators, which is why the screenings remain free to attend.

BITE ME: A JOYFUL CONVERSATION OF FILM DISTRIBUTION

BITE ME: A JOYFUL CONVERSATION OF FILM DISTRIBUTION

    PINK AMONG MEN IS BACK!

Season 2 kicks off with guests Naomi McDougall Jones, writer/producer and star, and Sarah Wharton, producer, of the new Romantic Comedy feature BITE ME!

In this chat, we focus on the challenges and biases of the indie film distribution model and how Naomi and Sarah took matters into their own hands with The Joyful Vampire Tour of America, showcasing BITE ME! at 51 screenings in over 40 cities across America. We also talk about the romantic comedy genre, vampires and how the two obviously go together.

    MORE ON BITE ME!

BITE ME is a subversive romantic comedy about a real-life vampire and the IRS agent who audits them. The filmmakers of BITE ME are taking a radical approach to film distribution. For 3 months they are taking the film on a 51-screening, 40-city, RV-fueled Joyful Vampire Tour of America, featuring screenings, Q&As and Joyful Vampire Balls. The film is simultaneously available to rent or buy on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play, as well as streaming on Seed & Spark. The team is also releasing a weekly docu-series on YouTube with new episodes each Saturday that follows the tour and offers filmmakers and audiences a transparent case study in a ground-breaking distribution model.
