Podgaku

This decade will be split in two episodes as well, because there’s so much to listen to from completely different backgrounds, genres and artists, classic and new ones! This decade is also called as the golden age of Isekai, but we have just one... and a half, probably! Anyway it’s not my favourite anime genre, so it’s understandable. Forgive me, please!

The 90s looked far away when we looked back in 2005, so in this part of the decade we will hear as openings really different sounds, like darker rock, cheesier pop and, why not, some folk. A few seiyuus were also confirming themselves as singers, abandoning the voice acting eventually and focusing on their musical carreer. And anime itself went to a darker stage on genres and topics, while 3D animation was claiming its place in the game.

En su corta vida, Malice Mizer nos brindó canciones de una calidad e innovación tremendas. Su carrera fue marcada por la rotación de miembros, cambios de discográfica y la desgracia de la pérdida de uno de sus componentes. Mana, Kö-zi y Yuki son el tronco de Malice Mizer y gracias a ellos tenemos canciones como Bel Air, Beast of Blood o Ma Cherie. Poco se puede hablar de X Japan a estas alturas. Muchos dicen que es la primera banda Visual Kei de la escena musical japonesa, una adaptación tardía del Glam de Inglaterra y Estados Unidos, y otros coinciden en que es la banda de rock más relevante en la historia de la música japonesa. La voz de Toshi, las guitarras de hide y Pata, el bajo de Heath y Taiji según la época, y las composiciones, piano y batería de Yoshiki Hayashi, han llenado las listas de éxitos con canciones como Kurenai, Silent Jealousy o Sadistic Desire y que, por supuesto, escucharás en este capítulo. Chage & Aska es el nombre artístico del dúo de cantautores formado por Shuji Shibata y Ryo Asuka que debutaron a finales de los años 70 con un estilo de música muy ligero y elegante. Juntos compusieron e interpretaron canciones como Say Yes o Love Song y llegaron a lo más alto de la lista ORICON en múltiples ocasiones.
