Ep394 - The Bad Speed Racer

Tune in for our preview of the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah!

However, the soap off the track must be dealt with first.  We do a deep dive on the smoke surrounding Christian Horner which has now enveloped Max Verstappen and more craziness.  We figure out why Alpine is such a mess at the moment.  Also, we touch on the investigation into FIA race interference and the sort of "unveiling" of the F1 track at Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia (in 2028).

The news kept breaking when Carlos Sainz was just announced as out for the race this weekend!  He will be replaced by Ollie Bearman, and we discuss that news, preview the race, make bold predictions, and recap the happenings in our F1 Fantasy league.

    Ep393 - Boring Grand Prix | #BahrainGP

    Ep393 - Boring Grand Prix | #BahrainGP

Tune in for our recap of the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix!

It was great to have F1 back on the track, but the most exciting moments came from Free Practice 2 and the cooldown lap.  Mercedes dazzled in FP2 as Lewis Hamilton and George Russell claimed a 1-2, but it became obvious that Red Bull and Ferrari had turned down their engines.  Max Verstappen cruised to victory, Charles Leclerc had brake issues, and Alpine were hot garbage.  The fireworks came after the checkered flag was waved when Yuki Tsunoda dove down the inside of teammate Daniel Ricciardo on the cooldown lap and cursed out the team orders on his radio.  In the end, it was good to see live racing action, and the soap off the track is building up to a massive lather.

Ep392 - Bah Bah Race Week

Ep392 - Bah Bah Race Week

Tune in for our preview of the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix!

We kick things off with some voicemails in the MailBoxBoxBox touching on Rich Energy, Andretti-Cadillac, and Carlos Sainz.  Then we get into some breaking news and review the results from F1 preseason testing.

This weekend brings us the 20th running of the Bahrain Grand Prix to start the 2024 season and answers to our many offseason questions.  It looks like the Middle Eastern races are being moved up to Saturdays this season so get ready for Friday Qualifying and a Saturday race.  We are hoping the abrasive track surface will deliver multiple stops, Safety Cars, and a rainbow podium.

    Ep390 - Childhood Dream

    Ep390 - Childhood Dream

Tune in for our discussion on Lewis Hamilton's shocking switch from Mercedes to Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season!

After a dozen years driving for Mercedes in F1, Lewis Hamilton will be jumping ship to join Scuderia Ferrari in 2025.  We cover everything he had to say about his decision, how Toto Wolff found out, what drivers Damon Hill and Jenson Button think about the move, and where this leaves Carlos Sainz.

We also ponder his potential replacement at Mercedes, discuss his rumored salary, and wonder what else may happen in what should be a bonkers Silly Season after this domino fell!

    Ep389 - Günther is Gone-ther

    Ep389 - Günther is Gone-ther

Tune in for lifestyle brand Purple Sector's latest episode!

We discuss breaking news on Haas' Team Principal shakeup and Sauber's ridiculous new name.  We also make a pit stop in the MailBoxBoxBox.

Günther Steiner is out and Ayaoooooo Komatsu is in as the new Haas Team Principal.  We speculate on what Gene Haas may be thinking, why Steiner got bounced, and what to expect from Ayaooooo.  Stake (and Kick) are Sauber's new title sponsors and will provide us with the ridiculous team name of Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber before they become Audi's factory team in a couple seasons.

The MailBoxBoxBox asked some hard hitting host questions, and we got some feedback on our Las Vegas Grand Rixcap.  Hit us up so you can become a guest cohost!

    Ep388 - Formula Consensus

    Ep388 - Formula Consensus

Tune in for the reveal of our top 10 Formula 1 drivers of 2023!

We analyze the Team Principals', Drivers', and Purple Sector's top 10 F1 drivers of last season.  There were some new entries, risers, fallers, snubs, and shocks.  Max Verstappen was obviously the consenus #1 on every list (spoiler alert).  We also broke the rules because 10 is never enough for us...

    Who got left out?
Who was too high or too low?
    Let us know your thoughts.

    Ep387 - French Toast Farewell | #AbuDhabiGP

    Ep387 - French Toast Farewell | #AbuDhabiGP

Tune in for our breakdown of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!

The 2023 F1 season is done and dusted, and there was no stoppin' Max Verstappen.  McLaren had a special livery for the season finale that reminded us of Fruit Stripe Gum.  Logan Sargeant registered an imperfect Qualifying for the year by failing to best his teammate Alex Albon in a single Saturday session this season.  Sergio "Checo" Perez had a sloppy weekend as he continued wrestling with his Red Bull.  "Undercut" was the word of the day on Sunday.

The most exciting part of the race was when Yuki Tsunoda became the second Japanese driver in F1 history to lead a Grand Prix.  This feat along with Max Verstappen's kind words on postrace radio were a fitting send off for AlphaTauri team boss Franz Tost AKA French Toast.

Another exciting season of F1 is in the books, and now we speed toward 2024 car reveals, offseason soap off the track, and the 2024 Formula 1 season!

    Ep386 - Water Valve Recovery | #LasVegasGP

    Ep386 - Water Valve Recovery | #LasVegasGP

Tune in for our breakdown of the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix!

The Netflix Cup kicked off the festivities (and we talked way too much about it in this episode).

The Opening Ceremony actually entertained before water valve covers maimed Carlos Sainz's car in FP1.

Charles Leclerc had himself a Saturday (and Sunday no thanks to the stewards).

The Sphere was probably the only bigger winner than Max Verstappen over this sinful Formula 1 weekend!

    Ep385 - Shoey Bar

    Ep385 - Shoey Bar

Tune in for our preview of the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix!

We are joined by legendary bookmaker John Murray of the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook for boots on the ground intel.

We talk desert temperatures at night, the Sphere, ticket and hotel prices, the Bellagio Shoey Bar, and all the pageantry on tap for what will be an crazy week of F1.  John also gives us a peek behind the glass at what bets they have already taken on the race winner and explains to us what he has been hearing about all the construction from the locals.

This race will be insane on, off, and around the track!

    Ep384 - São Paulonso | #BrazilGP

    Ep384 - São Paulonso | #BrazilGP

Tune in for our breakdown of the Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix!

Max Verstappen kept winning.  Lando Norris loves 2nd Place.  Fernando Alonso felt like a kid again in his epic battle with Checo Perez.  Ferrari made another mess before the race.  Valtteri Bottas had a moustache as a baby?  Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Toto Wolff are talking more trash about their car.

This was a fun F1 Sprint weekend!

    Ep383 - Checo Cameo | #MexicoGP

    Ep383 - Checo Cameo | #MexicoGP

Tune in for our breakdown of the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix!

Sergio Perez struggled while Daniel Riccardo starred with all eyes on them after rumors swirled of a head-to-head battle between them for the 2024 Red Bull seat alongside Max Verstappen.

Fernando Alonso went spinning and Max Verstappen kept winning.  Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc stuck it to the stewards by getting back on the podium after it was taken away at COTA.

We're going streaking!  Charles Leclerc now has 11 consecutive Pole Positions where he has not won the Grand Prix, and Nico Hülkenberg has stacked up 200 F1 races without stepping on the podium.

We have nothing but #Racepect for the #F1esta that was the Mexico City Grand Prix.

    Ep382 - Word Police Weekend | #USGP

    Ep382 - Word Police Weekend | #USGP

Tune in for our recap of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas AKA COTA in Austin, Texas sponsored by Lenovo!

We cover the Friday Qualifying, Saturday Shootout Qualifying and Sprint (don't use the word race), and Sunday Grand Prix (you can call this the race).  Carlos Sainz got another posthumous podium after Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified.  This also awarded Logan Sargeant his first F1 points.

We have now dubbed this race the Festival of F1 Spring Break in Autumn.  It just needs more fake leather helmets and liveries next time around.

    Ep381 - Ricciardo Returns

    Ep381 - Ricciardo Returns

Tune in for our preview of the F1 United States Grand Prix at COTA in Austin, Texas!

Both Championships may have been clinched, but there are still a handful of races remaining.  Saddle your horse and giddy up over to Austin with us.

Alpine continues courting celebrity investors.  Rumors are swirling at Red Bull.  There is another Purple Sector Stock Market investor call.

Will Max Verstappen dominate again (per usual)?  Will we see over 500,000 Formula 1 fans in attendance this weekend?  What are you grilling up for Formula Brunch?  Will McLaren jump Aston Martin in the Constructors standings?  Is Shaq going to dwarf the podium?

It's a Sprint weekend so buckle up for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday action!

    Ep380 - Pyramid Scheme | #QatarGP

    Ep380 - Pyramid Scheme | #QatarGP

Tune in for our recap of the F1 Qatar (Guitar) Grand Prix!

The Pyramid curbs led to a Pirelli takeover mandating a 3-stopper with 18 laps allowed per tire during the race.  The crazy curbs also gave us a random test session of a new painted "curb" before Shootout Qualifying on Saturday.  There were also still tons of lap times deleted and track limits penalties dished out all weekend.

Oscar Piastri and George Russell stole the show in Qatar/Guitar (in our opinion) even though Max Verstappen clinched his third Formula 1 Drivers Championship on Saturday.

    Ep379 - Guitar Grand Prix

    Ep379 - Guitar Grand Prix

Tune in for our preview of the F1 Qatar Grand Prix!

It's time for another Formula 1 Sprint, and we've renamed this race the Guitar Grand Prix.  We update the status of the Silly Season.  Logan Sargeant gets some shine.  Lewis Hamilton looks to defend his dominant 2021 run at Lusail International Circuit.  The bout for 2nd in the Constructors Championship is epic.  There is lots to love in F1 even though Max Verstappen is about to cakewalk to his third Drivers Championship this weekend.

    See y'all on the track!

    Ep378 - Kiss Me | #JapaneseGP

    Ep378 - Kiss Me | #JapaneseGP

Tune in for our recap of the F1 Japanese Grand Prix!

Max Verstappen and Red Bull got back to their winning ways.  Sebastian Vettel was buzzin' around the track.  It was a bad day for the S drivers with Sergio Perez, Logan Sargeant, and Lance Stroll struggling.  McLaren continue to ascend.  The "Kiss Me" trophies only received a smooch from one driver on the podium.  We debut the Purple Sector Stock Market and issue our buys, sells, and holds.

    Ep377 - Rows for the Bros | #SingaporeGP

    Ep377 - Rows for the Bros | #SingaporeGP

Tune in for our recap of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix!

Formula 1 has a new race winner this season!
We discuss performances by drivers up and down the grid in what was a very exciting race.

Carlos Sainz was a naughty schoolboy.
    Lando Norris was a wizard.
    George Russell was too sweaty.
Lance Stroll was missing in action.

The hair podium was a tasty Neopolitan of lust, curls, and braids that had us searching for puns.

Ep376 - Purple Sector Pony Ride

Ep376 - Purple Sector Pony Ride

The Purple Sector pony is saddled up and ready to ride!

We've been on an epic summer break from recording so there's some catching up to do.  We touch on things we missed on track, soap off the track, Silly Season happenings, a trophy upturn, and much more.

It starts as a show to catch up then turns into a defense of and love letter of sorts to Formula 1 as our shows often do.  It feels necessary given the hate that trolls are throwing at F1 due to Max Verstappen's current dominance in the roaring Red Bull.

There is also the most miniature Singapore Grand Prixview.

    Ep375 - Unsportsmanlike Behavior | #CanadianGP

    Ep375 - Unsportsmanlike Behavior | #CanadianGP

Tune in for our review of the F1 Canadian Grand Prix!

Max Verstappen continued setting and chasing more Formula 1 records.  Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton had fun chasing each other and cooling down their rear ends after the race.  Alex Albon was awesome all weekend.  Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, and Ferrari seemed shaky until Sunday (for once).  Just ask the Villeneuve family...  A bird stole the spotlight from Gary the Groundhog.  Nico Hülkenberg made us very thirsty.  The podium was an amazing mix of Champions, Ferrari Trento sparkling wine fights, and curious trophies.  We also get into the debut of the Grandstand starring Daniel Ricciardo and Will Arnett.

All in all, it was a very eventful race weekend with tons of stuff happening on, off, and around the track!
