    Reflections's podcast

Gleaned from over 40 years of ministry, these "Reflections" are my attempt to combat the growing indifference to Scripture in churches, and to help Christians "be ready with an answer".

    THE SHADOW OF DEATH

    THE SHADOW OF DEATH

Job started out responding to Bildad in chapter 9, but he concludes in chapter 10 by complaining to God.  The answer to his final complaint -- this tie - is found in an unexpected, if familiar, passage.  All the Reflections are available from reflections.libsyn.com, and I trust they will all be helpful!

    NO CONDEMNATION

    NO CONDEMNATION

Once again, Job's agonized questions are answered in the Lord Jesus Christ, as revealed in the New Testament.  This neglected Book of Holy Scripture has so many lessons for our own expeeriences.  All the "Reflections" can be heard at reflections.libsyn.com.  I hope they're all blessings!

    CHRIST THE MEDIATOR

    CHRIST THE MEDIATOR

All of Job's questions and complaints are answered in the God-breathed New Testament.  More than one example is found in this chapter.  For instnace, when Job complains that "there is no mediator", the New Testament says "Christ is our Mediator!"  We have a lot to thank and praise God for!  All the episodes are available at reflections.libsyn.com.  As always, I hope it's a blessing.

    TRUTH WITHOUT COMPASSION

    TRUTH WITHOUT COMPASSION

This episode concludes Bildad's first accusation against Job, the Sufferer.  Unfortunately, church peopel are often guilty of similar behavior.  I'm not surprised when unsaved people behave like this, but it's more than sad when beleivers do.  Hopefully, this message will convict us and inspire us to respond to suffering with more compassion.  All the Reflections are available at reflections.libsyn.com.

    REBUKING THE SUFFERER

    REBUKING THE SUFFERER

Job's so-called "friend" Bildad takes his turn trying to "explain" Job's suffering, but he's more heartless than Eliphaz, who has just finished.  We learn valuable lessons in how NOT to minister to sufferers from this passage, and possibly to repent from following certain church tradtions.  Take advantage of all episodes at reflections.libsyn.com.  As always, I hope it's a blessing.

RESPONDING TO THE LOSS OF GOD'S PRESENCE

RESPONDING TO THE LOSS OF GOD'S PRESENCE

Psalm 13 is part of God's Word for a reason.  Here is a first: I was able to cover an entire Psalm in a single Reflection!  This is a comfort for those going through spiritual dry spells.  All episodes are available at reflections.libsyn.com.  Please let me know your own "Reflections" in the Facebook group "Reflections Echoes".  Asalways, I hope this one is a blessing!

    FINISHING THE COURSE

    FINISHING THE COURSE

Most of us begin well.  We're full of energy and enthusiasm.  But as time goes on, discouragement sets in.  People turn on us and we experience rejection and neglect.  Many even quit.  All are tempted.  But Scripture, from beginning to end, is all about finishing well.  I hope this Reflection encourages us to stay the course.  All the Reflections are available from reflections.libsyn.com.

    REFLECTIONS ON MY SPIRITUAL LIFE

    REFLECTIONS ON MY SPIRITUAL LIFE

On the eve of my spiritual birthday, I decided to do something completely different: no references to written resources, no script, very little editing.  I just quickly "reflect" on my own spiritual odyssey.  Litening to it was kind of frustrating; so many things left out and so many things I could have said better.  But I feel I need to leave this the way it is.  I trust that's the Lord's guidance.  As always, I hope it's a blessing.  The regular Reflections look by turns at Genesis, Job, Matthew and Psalms.  They're all available at reflections.libsyn.com.  I trust every listener will have a blessed and fruitful New Year.

    SLIDING INTO SIN

    SLIDING INTO SIN

Again and again, humanity repays God's mercy by sliding back into the sins He has previously jusdged us for.  Genesis chpater 11 is no exception.  Hopefully, this generation of God's people will learn from these errors and pains of past generations...while we still can.  I've said this before:  With the conviction that the entire Bible is God's Word, I'm determined not to skip anything.  I hope this Reflection is a blessing.  All of them can be heard at reflections.libsyn.com.  Please contact me on my Facebook group "Reflections Echoes" with comments or questions.  God bless you!

IS BABEL A PROPHECY OF THE CHURCH?

IS BABEL A PROPHECY OF THE CHURCH?

After the Flood, humanity was told to "fill the earth".  In Babel, they tried to disobey that command.  Just before returning to heavenm Jesus told His followers to spread the Gospel to "all nations".  Have we done the same thing that the post-Flood people did?  Something to Reflect on!  All the Reflections are available from reflections.libsyn.com.  I hope this is a blessing!

    THE CREATOR AND THE TOWER

    THE CREATOR AND THE TOWER

We often make our own plans and hope that God will bless them.  But we have an example from history about how God responds to fallen humanity's ideas.  Hopefully, this Reflection will make us want to go to God first.  All the Reflections are available from refelctions.libsyn.com.  I hope this one is a blessing!

THE NATIONS ARE BORN, PART 1

THE NATIONS ARE BORN, PART 1

"ALL Scripture is God-breathed" (2 Tim. 3:16) including Genesis chapter 10.  Here we begin to Reflect on the origins of the nations humanity has separated itself into, based on the inerrant history of God's Word.  Every "Reflection" is available at reflections.libsyn.com.
