This is the final chapter in the book, but is it the end of the story? We find out what happened to all those people held captive and also their unwitting captors.  Whilst most loose ends are tied up there remains something .....

Galdesar with much disbelief at the way that Sylvie explains what she is picking up.  The beings are still not prepared to discuss the situation. Just what can they do now?

The screen shows a really impressive craft, it is enormous, looking more like several craft than just a single craft.  Could this be the place where Ed and the others are being held.  Galdesar tells the Captain to motor on over to it and we'll open the front door just to show our friends out there that we mean business. Suddenly Ed sees why the panic, the image of the craft that Sylvie had projected to Ed and he then onto the beings, was none other than the very container that Ed and all the pods are housed.  Is this the end of Ed and the others?

Our intrepid rescuers find that the beings holding Ed and the others are just not listening and refusing to discuss the problem.  Galdesar has plans to make them sit up and listen.   Yes being in military, Galdesar's plan involves some destruction. Some action at last.

The Klashnayev is coming up on its meeting place with the Questors 7, 8 and 9.  Discussions are taking place with the Questor 9's equivalent of Galdesar's Leader Board.  Ed thinks he is getting somewhere with his dialogue, but just why do they want the materials?  How quickly things can change.

Looking and feeling now more like those around them, Paul and Sylvie are dressed in military uniforms.  They have been invited to a planning meeting, to discuss the rescue.  Meanwhile Ed has managed to enter into some sort of strange dialogue with whoever or whatever is holding him here.

They appear to be waiting for something or someone, it has been a good two hours since Sylvie and Paul had boarded the impressive but strange looking Klashnayev.  Paul is himself waiting for Sylvie to arrive in the cafeteria.  Paul feels really uncomfortable amongst these military types, even though they appear to be ignoring him, he gets the strong feeling they are watching him like a hawk.  Meanwhile Ed has the same sort of feeling that he is being observed, but he can see nothing.

Paul gets the news about the Jasteritan's disappearance.  At one he's glad that his brother and uncle's plan has worked, but at the same time, he is not relishing the fact that as the message has come to Paul, it is down to him to break the news to the family.

They are ready now, the Questor 9 looks impressive with the various craft attached to its hull, ready for anything.  The two craft align themselves at opposite ends of space and as if someone has waved a starters flag they approach.  Will they succeed in finding the anomaly?

Richard and Ed have been summoned to a meeting.  The Jasteritan is at a stop now, the room full, the captain and some other official are centre of attention.  An announcement is made to the effect that they have arrived earlier than anticipated.  The battle with whatever is out there is about to commence.  Ed encounters Jiash again, he tries to get away.

Ed is awoken by something, just what was it?  Whilst in a luxuriant cabin, Ed feels so limited, as he tries to obey the restrictions placed on him. He find it difficult to live as normal, he cannot go to places that he would normally go within the craft.  He's glad when uncle Eichard comes to see him, at last a chance for some normality. Then the peace is broken.

As Ed comes off shift he is surprised that Richard is waiting for him.  What is going on?  Richard looks worried and declares, "It's happened again!"  But what? Fedioaux asks if Ed has heard anything about the hearing, she says she left early.

Ed decides to see the Captain about his problem.  She tells him that he should have done this much earlier, but at least he has done the right thing now.  She disappears to check things out, but returns with two security people, things seem to be getting even worse.  Ed fears that his career will be on the line.

They missed their take off slot and flight control must be having a joke, they delay the next slot.  Although the delay means that they can now head straight to the destination rather than some arbitrary point in space. Ed takes the first shift.  He's glad when the end of his shift comes, he decides to go to the entertainments room  to wind down before grabbing something to eat and settling down to sleep. However, Ed is not prepared for what happens next.
