Peace in Israel and Palestine #1 - (Replay) Understanding Biblical Israel and the Land Today - With Dr. Yohanna Katanacho

As we lament the recent violence and war in Israel and Palestine and pray for a just and lasting peace, we encourage you to listen to this podcast about Biblical Israel and the question of land with Regent's Summer faculty member Dr. Yohanna Katanacho.

Please see this page for Regent College's official statement on the recent violence in Israel and Palestine.

For ancient Israel, land held significance as it was seen as a divine promise.  But what exactly did this mean and how did Israel understand it?  Were there actual borders promised, if so what were they?  And who was considered to be Israel, or a part of God’s chosen people?  Dr. Yahanna Katancho unpacks these questions and more, as they are a lived experience for him growing up as a Palestinian Christian.   He has also written a book called "The Land of Christ: A Palestinian Cry,"  which delves deeper into the things we discussed today. We hope you enjoy the conversation.

Also, if this conversation peaks your interest Dr. Yohanna is teaching a summer course on called Palestinian Theology in Context
