    Shira Scott Astrof talks about rescuing dogs from horrendous situations from the meat trade in China to abusive situations in the U.S. as well as Tijuana. She explains the rescue process of seeing dogs go from horrible, often emaciated and fearful conditions to healing, coming out of their shells and flourishing. Shira sheds light on the inbreeding issue within the breeding industry along with breeders dumping dogs when they shut down. Shira discusses living off of her savings as she runs the rescue, shelters v rescues, euthanasia in shelters and she shares stories about particular dog rescues involving dogfighting and hoarding.
