Bringing emotional health to the forefront, emotions play a huge role in shaping our decisions, leading to the course our lives take. As stated in biblical texts, the heart, centers human emotions. This aligns with modern science that show decisions are never made empty of emotions. Unchecked emotions can lead to impulsive decisions, such as when we admit to making purchases emotionally, leading to potential regrets.
Emotions can drive choices related to health, job, relationships, and religious practices, which may not benefit someone's long-term well-being. Overcoming these hurdles requires acknowledging the power of emotions and creating strategies to prevent their power in life's journey.

To be grateful is good, but to actually practice gratitude is so much more than that. By practicing gratitude, you are choosing to follow Jesus, even when you don't understand. You're promising to remain faithful, even when it's difficult.
So many of us live like we know Jesus, but our actions just don't follow. Maybe you even feel grateful to God, but you don't go any deeper than that. You may not be allowing your faith to grow any further, and that matters to Jesus.
Check out Melody Workman's message on "Why Feeling Grateful Isn't Enough", and comment below your thoughts or feelings! We'd love to hear from you.

Did you know that Jesus talked about money more than almost any other topic in the New Testament?
Despite the anxiety that it gives most of us, we have to be open to talking about the subject, because, the reality is, where our money goes often points to where our heart is at. In Luke 16:13-14 (NLT), Jesus says "No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other".
If money is our only concern, and we don't trust God with our money, then where is our heart truly at? Are you contributing to the growth of God's kingdom, or are you just benefitting from it? Consider this as you check out Pastor Matt's message.

When was the last time you thanked God for the blessings in your life?
We each have a tendency to take for granted the gifts that we've been given, whether that's personal talents, financial blessings, or personal relationships. Take some time today to pray a prayer of thankfulness over what you have, and cherish the good times when you have them.

Learn the spiritual practice of listening: being fully attentive with the intent of understanding. Listening is a matter of life and death when it comes to relationships. There is no life with God apart from listening. Our current culture is noisy with lots of talking. The practice of listening is a dying art.
Here's how you can practice listening:
- Ask people how they experience your listening
- Think about how you can become a safe person
Practice listening so that you can be formed more fully into a person of love.
Spiritual formation is the process of how we become more like Jesus.
In a culture where greed and selfishness are so predominant, how do we allow ourselves to be marked by generosity?
Generosity is a lot more than what you do with your money. Jesus was incredibly generous, yet He had little to nothing to His name. He was generous with His time, His affection, and His words.
Even if you don't have much, how can you be more generous in your life? What do you need to sacrifice so you can give more?
