    Dash Gordon - Timothy Glover

    Dash Gordon - Timothy Glover

'Dash Gordon' became a League City celebrity with his joyful DoorDash deliveries. Now he's opening a charity.

Timothy Glover oversees his own nonprofit foundation. The Dash Gordon Foundation is the capstone of his mission: spreading cheer and goodwill among the citizens of League City.

Or rather the career capstone of his "superhero" alter ego, Dash Gordon.

Glover, a father of eight, has been working in the car industry for about 30 years. In an unfortunate turn of events last year, his wife had a health scare. In need of extra money, he signed on with food delivery service DoorDash. But months after doing so, he became frustrated — no one opened their front doors to receive deliveries.

"I needed to create an experience. So I created a persona: Dash Gordon," said Glover, 57, of his spin on the character Flash Gordon. "People got a kick out of it and they started thanking me."

At the end of April 2022, he convinced his wife to buy a Flash costume. On his first night out in costume, he created quite a commotion: "Restaurant managers were like, 'You gotta go.' All the talk on League City social media was like, there’s this guy dressed in a Flash costume..."

After returning home from frontline combat service with the Marines in the Middle East, Scotti took time off to reflect, and heal, through writing new music. He now embarks on a soul-searching road to redemption through rock and roll. His Americana style of rock combines groove-oriented riffs, lyrics inspired by his time in the military, and a message of standing tall in the face of personal hardships. His mission is to offer hope and empowerment to Veterans through the healing powers of music.

    RP-1, Texas - Jeremy Robinson

    RP-1, Texas - Jeremy Robinson

More about RP-1, Texas founder, Jeremy Robinson

I’m a veteran of both Afghanistan and Iraq. I was both a Cav Scout and an Infantryman. Nowadays, I’m a husband, a father, and I suppose a lot of people just call me a cowboy. But in the 13 years between leaving the military and becoming a father, I experienced much of what many of our peers have been facing since separation.

We all know at least one veteran who has failed to thrive in the civilian world.
We've all seen the rising suicide rates, with many of us losing close friends along the way.

And if it's not that, it's guys living as dangerously as they can until they leave the world on their own terms. Funerals for so many friends along the way. And it's a wonder many of us are still here.

I bore witness to veterans making it big, achieving huge successes in their fields, while others couldn't figure out which way to turn on a circular track.
And I've watched, along with everyone else, as the charts that document our homelessness rates pop up and down like an EKG for long enough. It's time for us to start looking out for one another.

The Phoenix Journey - Dominique Cousin

    Dominique Cousin Short Personal Biography:

I'm a small business owner with my husband, In House Chefs, and I have 2 children (11 & 7). I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis where I lost majority of my bodily functions within a matter of months. I found myself in a wheelchair, or bedridden most days.

I demonstrated 30 out of 31 symptoms and was in bad shape; mentally, spiritually, and definitely physically. This turned my life upside down but through my husband, friends and my community with their connections, I was able to reverse my symptoms. By drastically changing my diet and lifestyle I am able to live a normal life, playing with my kids and doing normal life things again.

The Phoenix Journey provides access to resources and providers for those who suffer from autoimmune diseases. We also give coaching and accountability to those that need it regarding staying the course on their optimal health journey.

    More About MJ

As a Texan, wife, mother, and successful entrepreneur, MJ has a big heart for her family and community. After almost 20 years in marketing, project management, and entrepreneurship, MJ channeled her wide breadth of industry experience and shared her passion for helping women. When MJ lost her twin daughter, Desiree, at birth, the reality of not having the proper support from family, friends, and the community around her was devastating. She not only lacked guidance when being released from the hospital, but she did not know how much she truly needed mental, spiritual, and physical healing. This traumatic event prompted her to start Little Angel Network later. She is passionate about helping women during one of the darkest times of their life, and she vows to be the light and support to women worldwide.

We provide grief care packages to hospitals and birthing centers to provide to families who have lost a child during pregnancy or birth. Our aim is to bridge the gap with after-hospital care for women and families to receive professional counseling, spiritual support, and physical and nutrition guidance.

Speak Up for the Poor - Dave Palmer

Speak Up for the Poor - Dave Palmer

    About Dave

I was raised in Sacramento, California, then attended UCLA (BA degree in 1992), and Fuller Theological Seminary (MA degree in 1997). Upon completing grad school in 1997 I took a position with a faith-based non-profit organization, Servant Partners, which focuses on community building and poverty alleviation both in the USA and internationally. I worked for Servant Partners for 22 years, until 2019. For seven of those years, I lived and worked internationally in India and in Bangladesh.
In 2019 I transitioned to Speak Up for the Poor (which is also a non-profit organization but is not a religious or faith-based org). For the past four years I have served as Director of Development with Speak Up. I help to raise awareness of and funds for Speak Up's Girls Education Program in Bangladesh, which helps girls from impoverished backgrounds who are vulnerable to child marriage (and in some cases child trafficking) to stay in school through college graduation.
I have been married for 19 years to my wife Mini (20th anniversary coming up this April!), and we have two daughters, Lily (age 16) and Emily (age 14). We have lived in Long Beach, CA for the past 16 years.

    About Speak Up

In Speak Up we have a sponsorship model which allows anyone who wishes to get involved and partner with us in educating and empowering vulnerable girls. The average cost for a girl or young woman to participate in the GEP is $40 per month. (This covers school fees, school uniform, books and materials, daily after school tutoring and mentoring from our staff, and monthly grade-level trainings on life skills and professional skills. For young women in college, there is also an opportunity to live in our college dormitory, which provides room and board in the city, in close proximity to local colleges and nursing schools, while young women in the GEP pursue their higher education.) Those who wish to partner with us can either contribute any amount toward our overall work, or they can sign up to sponsor a specific girl in the GEP for $40 per month. Sponsors receive specific information and updates about the girl they are sponsoring (her name, photos of her, her grade in school, birthdate, her "dream" of what she would like to become through her education, etc.). Sponsors also receive letters from their sponsored girl, and can write letters and send photos back to her, to build a personal connection.

Those interested in contributing or sponsoring can do so o

The Veterans Ranch - J.R. Smith

    The Veterans Ranch
Our mission is to assist Veterans and their families through Equine Therapy, a range of treatments that involve activities with horses to promote human physical and mental health. We assist these great Americans and their families in laying down heavy coats of burden and walk away as newer and improved versions of themselves.

J.R. Smith VP and COO of The Veterans Ranch
J.R. has always had a love for horses and Veterans. His Father, Uncle, Grandfather, are all Veterans. J.R. also had a lot of friend that went to the first Gulf War right out of high school in 1991. So, he has a strong appreciation for the sacrifices that are made to protect our freedoms. This is why The Veterans Ranch was founded in 2017 so Veterans and their families can get the assistance that they need, and lay down that heavy coat of burden and walk forward as a new and improved version of themselves. J.R. calls horses God’s majestic animal. They can feel a gnat land on their back, so they know everything about you from two feet away. They are just amazing.

    Get to Know Kenshara Cravens

Kenshara Cravens believes everyone is capable of change. It’s this tenet that has led to her pursuing her calling in Social Work. With a singular goal of empowering as many individuals as she can, she finds ways to contribute through service, mentorship, and compassion.

The foundation’s overarching goal is to institute social-emotional learning strategies for adolescent and young adult students attending the Galveston County public school system.

With Social Work and the youth ever present as her impetus, Kenshara Cravens truly is a maven in her field. As she continues to fuel her appetite for knowledge and works to empower her peers, she looks forward to what the future holds.

    Insure Equality - Elisa Stampf

    Insure Equality - Elisa Stampf

Elisa "fell" into insurance after a quick stint in banking. Spending most of her time on the carrier side with both regional and national carriers, she was an underwriter for commercial lines and a marketing rep for the Chicagoland area.

When she had the opportunity to specialize in Work Comp she designed and implemented a countrywide training program (a personal highlight). Throughout her insurance career, she was able to be a sales leader, a trainer, and an advocate for giving campaigns within her companies.

She earned six designations and an MBA all while working and has an insatiable appetite to learn and grow. After a brief visit to the agency side, her exit propelled her to co-found a community that pushes everyone forward and welcomes everyone in: Insure Equality.

Insure Equality (IE) is a love letter back to the insurance industry from people that care about insurance and all it affects. Elisa works diligently to craft the vision and output for IE by creating community and working towards accountability.

IE's focus is to bring people together to make insurance a more welcoming place. Our mission is to uplift the voices in our industry that are typically excluded or minimized.

Whether it's hosting panels around tough topics, or ensuring differing voices are brought to the table. Our goal is always to bring people together in the process.

We also created and launched a tech platform that helps employees weigh in on how their culture feels! A must have for an industry that is at the intersection of increasing merger and acquisition activity as well as a dip in retention and hiring.

    More about Teen Inc.
    •       Founded Teen Inc in 2013
    •       Teen Inc.’s mission is to: “To provide social, educational, and development services to urban and at-risk teens”.
    •       Teen Inc.’s motto is “Touching Tomorrow Today”

Delinquent and at-risk youth find themselves continuously immersed among negative conditions, creative programs are needed to counter the steady flow of undesirable circumstances.  Youth mentoring programs are found to be effective when working with delinquent and at-risk youth when compassionate and responsible adult mentors lend support and guidance to promote personal and social responsibility.

Teen Inc Mentorship Intervention Program is designed to provide supportive services and encourage at-risk and delinquent youth to participate in one-on-one mentor/mentee relationship that includes social-skills workshops and specialized events to endorse goal setting, positive decision-making, and academic success.

The Club Success program provides workshops, classes, and services that will expose youth to the opportunities available in the current job market, prepare them for employment, while focusing them on career development.

Family Unification provides Positive Parenting Programs. These evidence-based services offer a suite of sessions, each catering to different levels of need or dysfunction.  Providing support, resources, and tools for youth and families can reduce cost associated with conduct disorder, child abuse and out-of-home placements. Family Unification Improves the relationship between youth and parents/guardians.

MAD for Vets is a 501c3 Non Profit organization whose purpose is to contribute to a variety of charities to support Veterans.
