Maria and Robert Diaz were 8-year-old twins. They loved detective stories. Maria and Robert wanted to be detectives when they grew up. They daydreamed about solving big cases and becoming famous. Story by Skidompha friend Bob Emmons, and read by Mal Gormley, with apologies.

    Skidompha Sketches: Don Edwards

    Skidompha Sketches: Don Edwards
Bob Emmons' interview of local resident Don Edwards reveals someone with a truly unique and fascinating background. Edwards is a retired Army major general, as well as a former Vermont state legislator. Later, he became an aide and military advisor to his long-time friend Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, whom Edwards ascribes the secret to Senator's popularity as "The Guy Next Door" personality. Edwards later became a military commentator for Fox News after the 9/11 attacks. Edwards also describes some of his remarkable experiences, including the time he and Bernie spotted (and eventually outed) a Medal of Honor imposter in a parade in Burlington. Edwards also relates his involvement in legislation to help veterans who were exposed to deadly toxins in combat. If you would like to be considered as a guest on Skidompha Sketches let us know!
