BLANCA: Through the Heartbreak and the Healing

BLANCA: Through the Heartbreak and the Healing

The powerful pop vocalist of Puerto Rican descent, Blanca, was born in New York City and at a young age, moved to Florida, where she lives today. The Premios Arpa award recipient’s self-titled, debut solo album, following a successful Dove Award-winning run with Group 1 Crew, garnered two No. 1 radio singles, “Who I Am” and “Not Backing Down (feat. Tedashii),” the latter of which was featured on ESPN. Shattered, Blanca’s second album and a project that is very personal to her, added three back-to-back No. 1 radio singles (“Real Love,” “What If” and “Remind Me”) to her story, along with 104 million streams and more than 39 million views on YouTube. She received her first-ever Tecla Award nomination in October of 2019, in the category of Best Musician Creating Social Content. Blanca’s recent radio single, “Even At My Worst,” became her sixth No. 1 radio single. Also, “The Healing (feat. Dante Bowe)” was a resounding success that allowed both of them to perform at the 2022 K-Love Fan Awards, where Blanca was nominated for Female Artist of the Year. Her new solo project, The Heartbreak and The Healing, is available everywhere now. In 2019, she was part of the main cast of the Bogotá Gospel event, sharing the stage with artists such as Alex Zurdo, Danilo Montero, and others. Cultivating her Latin roots, in 2020 she announced her second EP in Spanish titled Renovada, handling singles mostly in Spanish and collaborations with Christine D'Clario, Gawvi, "Papi Song" with Genio, in honor of her father Toñito Reyes. Blanca has a lot to say on her new album, The Heartbreak & The Healing. She uses a diverse fusion of pop, Latin, Hip-Hop, and Gospel to share her heart about her recent divorce. This full-length album is loaded with positive grace-filled messages of hope that address the pressures of life. Blanca understands that her identity only comes from her relationship with God. The album offers two sides of the same story—the hurt and the redemption. Blanca has released a string of hit songs, "Who I Am," "Real Love" and “Shattered.” CONNECT WITH BLANCA Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/officialblanca Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/officialblanca Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/@officialblanca CONNECT WITH MUSIC CITY ACOUSTICS For a special deal, make sure you mention “THE CHIZPOD” when you place your first order. JOHN CHISUM: How To Be More Authentic in Your Songwriting

JOHN CHISUM: How To Be More Authentic in Your Songwriting

I have personally spoken with over 800 aspiring songwriters in the last 24 months about what we’re doing here at Nashville Christian Songwriters. Almost without fail every one of them has said the same three phrases to me during the course of our calls:

“I just want to get my songs out there.”

“I just want to be heard.”

“I just know God has something bigger for me and my music.”

You’ve probably said or thought these things, too, as have I. I’ve come to believe that we all feel this way, especially songwriters. Let’s just go ahead and admit to God and everybody that we all want to get our songs out and be heard, okay? No shame.

In our NCS Pro Song Mastery Course, I teach songwriters that you have a lot more control over your innate creativity than you might think. With the right skills, you can begin to spot ideas so quickly and easily that your title list will be brimming with song ideas queuing up and screaming to be written.

JOHN CHISUM: 5 Ways to Develop Better Christian Songs

JOHN CHISUM: 5 Ways to Develop Better Christian Songs

Where do great song ideas come from?

Are they crouching behind bushes just out of sight like crafty little leprechauns or hidden under rocks like salamanders waiting for you to turn them over to discover them buried there? Actually, neither is the case. While it may seem like song ideas are deliberately hiding from you, they’re actually happening around (and within) you every day, all day long, 365 days a year. You just need to know how to spot them.

In our NCS Pro Song Mastery Course, I teach songwriters that you have a lot more control over your innate creativity than you might think. With the right skills, you can begin to spot ideas so quickly and easily that your title list will be brimming with song ideas queuing up and screaming to be written.

JOHN CHISUM: 5 Ways to Make More Time to Write Hit Christian Songs

JOHN CHISUM: 5 Ways to Make More Time to Write Hit Christian Songs

We’re all busy. There’s hardly time to do all that must be done for work, school, and family, much less cram in songwriting, no matter how called you feel as a Christian songwriter.

If you're ready to take the next step in your songwriting career, hop on the phone with us for a free no-hassle breakthrough call and we'll point you in the right direction. Not having enough time is the #1 complaint of most Christian songwriters. But someone’s finding the time to write the popular radio hits and great songs you sing in church each Sunday. They don’t have more time than you. They just invest it wisely. If God has called you to use your talents for His glory, can’t He help make the way to get it done?

Try these 5 ways to make more time for your songwriting every day of the week:

#1 Take an easy inventory of how you invest your time each day.

#2 Write in micro-bursts instead of waiting for longer periods to write.

#3 Use transitional moments to think about your messaging.

#4 Use casual listening time to shape your composition.

#5 Set aside one hour each week to bring it all together.

WM. PAUL YOUNG: “The Shack” Author on Death Row

WM. PAUL YOUNG: “The Shack” Author on Death Row

Death Row inmates are among some of the most forgotten populations in our society, but not for “The Shack” author, Wm. Paul Young, and his friend, Wes Yoder. Paul and Wes have been spending a lot of time doing what Jesus said in Matthew 25, “I was in prison and you came to visit me,” spending time with a group of Jesus’ followers on Death Row in a Nashville prison.

Young, whose book “The Shack” has sold over 20 million copies and was adapted into a blockbuster movie, exudes the love of God everywhere he goes with a message of acceptance and grace for all. Receiving God’s grace in a tangible way from his wife and family after admitting to a three-year affair and facing the dark memories of childhood sexual abuse and rejection became the basis for “The Shack” that has impacted millions with a fresh look at the love and forgiveness of God for us, in spite of our own anger towards Him.

Included in this episode is a cellphone conversation with death row inmate Terry King, who shares the profound story of his conversion after reading “The Shack'' and his treasured relationships with Young and Yoder. He also tells about his profound reconciliation with a close family member of the man who lost his life at Terry’s hands thirty-nine years ago.

Show host John Chisum, Young, and long-time friend, Wes Yoder, explore how the love of Christ reaches every person on the planet regardless of their life circumstances, including being incarcerated.  Wes Yoder has helped promote speakers and authors for over four decades including Wm. Paul Young, Rick Warren (The Purpose Driven Life), and many more through The Ambassador Agency.
