Welcome back to BCOP! This week we open the office door with our first guest, the Legend himself Butch Chaffin! A 25 year season vet at the high school level, as well as a USA Baseball coaching staff member, Butch has been a leader of the game in many aspects. Most coaches have heard Coach Chaffin's story through podcast or ABCA Clinics, but today we wanted to go a different direction. We find out how the game has impacted Coach Chaffin. WE ARE BACK!  In this episode we sit back down with Chase Stewart of Co-Lin Community College and reflect back to his first year in college coaching. We discuss surprises that arose through the year but also what he looks forward for his pitchers in year 2. 

I had the honor of speaking at the 2022 Coaches Summit at GGC on November 16. I spoke on the topic of leadership and how we train our guys in our program. We discussed the levels of leadership and how we implement WOTW and our Leadership Council! 

This week we sit down with Coach Chase Stewart of CoLin Community College. Chase discusses his journey getting to the junior college ranks. He discusses what "winning" means to him and how he gets his staff to buy into the little things to create big things. 

In part two, Coach Harrelson and I take a deep dive into leadership and how it is implemented with our guys. We also discuss how relationships with players have evolved and how important they are to me. 

In Episode 50, I sat down with roles reversed. Richy Harrelson sat down and interviewed me. In this episode we discuss the most influential people in my life along with why I started the TAKEOFF Podcast to begin with. It was an honor to sit down and discuss these topics with someone that has meant so much to me. Richy knows me very well so he knew exactly what to ask. It was such a great conversation we split it into TWO parts!

In Episode 49 we got the boys back together again to catch up. This time there were no planned questions, we just sat down and pressed record. Coach Kevin Williams of Corinth High School, Coach John Walker of Lafayette High School, Coach Kyle Long of Greene County High School, and Coach Rich Harrelson of Northeast Community College take us for a ride on a number of topics including leadership, player relationships, and even the NIL! 

We sit down with the 2022 6A State Champion, Coach KK Aldridge as we discuss his team's journey to winning a state title. The Northwest Rankin Cougar ended the season #1 in the State claiming the title after finishing runner-up in 2021. Coach talks about guiding a highly talented group to Trustmark to claim the title. 

Coach Jeff Willis has lead the Bengals to just finished up his 20th season with the Bengals. Coach Willis started leading the Bengals at an age of 24. The Bengals have appeared in 10 NJCAA World Series, winning 7 Championships. Coach discusses how he develops the PERSON first and prepares young men for the future. 

In today's episode we are sitting down with David Parkinson, the owner, of Intent Performance in Laurel, Ms. IP's mission is to continue searching and figuring out the game of baseball. Intent Performance is a training facility for pitching and hitting. It host several professional athletes during the offseason, as well as catering to the need of local hitters and pitchers. David discusses his journey in baseball as a player and trainer in today's game and athlete.

In Episode 44, we sit down with Coach Patrick Robey from Madison Central HS in Madison, Ms. Coach Robey won the 6A State Championship and also the National Championship in High School Baseball. He discusses how he handled all the talent on his team and keeping them headed in the right direction. We also go into his past and discuss things he has learned along the way.
