This Week:   Some people think of a "splurge" as something wasteful that you don't need. Well, in this episode, Heather reminds travelers that a travel splurge is always worth it! A travel splurge could be a room or flight seating upgrade, a room with a view, turning a 4 night trip into a 5, 6 or 7 night trip, or even a specific excursion or tour.  Making the most of every trip creates great experiences and the BEST memories. When evaluating whether a possible "splurge" is worth it, the first thing is to determine what is important to you as a traveler and then what is important to those traveling with you whether it is family or friends. This Week:  In this episode, Heather shares what she says was one of the COOLEST travel experiences she's ever had - swimming with manatees in the springs of Florida!  As temperatures drop in the fall, manatees, also known as sea cows, gravitate toward the warm springs of Florida, especially Crystal Springs, FL where visitors can swim, snorkel, and kayak in a clear-bottomed kayak in the crystal clear water. There are ways to see the manatees that do NOT require getting in the water such as observatories, boardwalks, and even a boat trip. The manatees are protected by state and federal laws so Crystal Springs is a safe place for the sea cows. Guides are available to help visitors get the most out of their manatee experience whether visitors are in and out of the water. A guide for both individual and group tours is required to get in the water but are a great help for any tour. Chartered boat tours are also a great way to see everything. What a fun and unique trip excursion that the whole family can enjoy!

Each of these places offers walk-through activities, beautiful Christmas lights, carriage rides, and special holiday events. Cullman, AL has an annual Christmas Market that is a must-do experience at some point in your life. Tennessee has great Christmas destination options like Gatlinburg and Chattanooga. Plus, the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville features a different theme for Christmas each year, especially at their Ice Event where you can snow tube, ice skate, or build a gingerbread house.
