This week Dave gives his thoughts on the trade period & why something about it just doesn't sit right, as well as wrapping a disappointing couple of weeks for our AFLW side + a quick wrap on the Best & Fairest from last Monday.

David looks over the last couple weeks of AFLW footy as we win in a glorious comeback over the Saints, before a disappointing home loss against the Cats. PLUS, a look forward to our game against the bottom placed Eagles this weekend.

After a small break, David tries to make sense of our lacklustre finish to the season as well as the discourse around the coaching + other fallout. Also, a tribute to the late, great, Geof Motley.

*FYI - It can be difficult trying to talk about the coaching at Port Adelaide as any notion that isn't complete hate for Ken can sometimes be taken as happy clapper status, of which I am far from. So please be kind.

A huge qualifying final at the Lions Den awaits our Port boys as the toughest away test of week one of the finals is presented to us. David nervously looks over it, our squad options/selection squeeze, and what to expect out of the match ups against this strong Brisbane side.

David gets into the opening result of our AFLW season as our girls went to the rental home of our city rivals & showed there has been much growth in the off season, but still showed the level we need to get to. Also, briefly looking ahead to Round 2 & our home opener at Alberton against the Brisbane Lions.

Last minor round game of the season! David gives his thoughts on a game that doesn't mean a whole lot in some ways, but is still very important. Also, (ducks behind couch) thoughts on the Hinkley extension after a week or so of digesting it. 

Also, a brief note at the end to GET YOUR AFLW MEMBERSHIPS. The ladies are looking good heading into the season, be there to support them.

One of those games that even the purists may like to forget, but a win is a win is a win is a win. Some good stuff to take out of it still as we build form heading towards September footy. Also, like death & taxes player retirements are inevitable - but it's always emotional. A tribute to our captain as Tom Jonas announces he'll hang up the boots & pick up the fishing gear at seasons end.

LOT GOING ON THIS WEEK. Retro round, Hinkley will he/won't he/will the fans finally riot etc. Plus stupidity at the cattery & who knows what to think about our side this week as injuries yet again play a role in selection. 

Head. Spinning.

There's no other way to say it - this week was f**king shit. A Showdown loss, injuries mounting, & a very public failure in concussion protocols. David talks about it all, particularly trying to make sense of the outrage around the concussion issue & why while it is of utmost importance, most actually seemed to care more about punishment than anything else.

I tried. This wasn't a fun one.

Packed week of news! We lost to Collingwood by 2 points in a heartbreaker, but there were some positives to come out of it (Ben Stokes thinks we won). Willie Rioli got suspended for a love tap & the cowards of the internet showed we have a long way to go in stamping out racism. Also, did the Ramsgate Rumble really happen? Are we allowed to hate our rival anymore? + RETRO LEAKS 👀 👀 👀 

** NOTE: I mentioned in the podcast that Travis Boak would equal a games record of 2nd all time for Port Adelaide alongside Greg Phillips, but had a brain fart & didn't mention Darren Smith also sits on 343 games played for our great club. My apologies.

Many streaks came to a crashing halt last week as Carlton stomped us on our previously happy hunting ground at Marvel, & we have a big ol top of the table clash coming against Collingwood tonight! Brief little hungover chat about both.

David spent most of the July 4th weekend sauced beyond comprehension, so this podcast is both late & a bit unprepared. But somehow there's still 40-something minutes of semi-decent content, allegedly. Houston miracles, Dixon & Finlayson love, & a little worry about the Suns. 

Also f**k the whinging poms in there somewhere as well. All happening. F**k, I need a beer.

Like a loaded foot long sub, this episode is packed full - David's thoughts on the season so far, Miles Bergman puts pen to paper, Choco is rightfully a Hall of Fame, & Port attempt to keep the streak going & beat the bye curse.

Running out of ways to say "jeez that was f**king good wasn't it" with 11 wins in a row now, but wouldn't have it any other way. A bit of a delayed review of our win over Geelong before the bye.

Our Port boys win their TEN-able tenth win on the bounce in another gutsy win over the Dogs at Marvel, & the Cats come to Adelaide Oval with some key players back to provide us a real test before the bye.
