For this episode I'll be playing a recording from what my family has long considered to be our haunted farmhouse in Northern Arkansas. My voice and the recording is rather rough, but I hope you'll enjoy this in-the-field recording.

For this episode I talk about a place in Kansas City that's very dear to my heart. Epperson House is on the UMKC campus and it's been closed and sealed up. I fear for the place's future if it's not restored very soon. I read and discuss an article I wrote about the history of the mansion and the years of neglect that it's had to endure.

There's just nothing like turning down the lights and turning on a scary movie. And thanks to all the streaming services our choices are vast. But to narrow those down a bit, here's a list of 5 horror movies from 2018 that I highly recommend. If you haven't seen them, they come with the Darkwood House Seal of Horrific Approval!

I'm calling this a creepy hodge-podge or salad bar episode since it's an odd mix of topics that I just couldn't expand into proper full episodes. There's mentions of my other favorite podcasts and podcasters, talk about Ghost Phone Calls, and the plundering of antiques by the Nazis.
My interview with paranormal investigator Becky Ray. We talk about the paranormal happening at the Glore Psychiatric Museum in St. Joseph, Missouri and about her other experiences with ghosts and hauntings.
(Originally recorded March 14, 2019)
Your host starts the program by explaining the origins of his name, Haunter Darren, then talks about haunted houses both real and imagined.
