Season 5 continues with the incomparable Evelyn LeTeshia, who wears many hats and is a blazing pioneer as an actress, singer, songwriter, director, screenwriter, and model.  She does it all, and she does it well!  After a life-altering event, Evelyn decided to pursue her passions unapologetically.  She refused to allow her awakening to be tragic and the opportunities began to flow in abundance.  We had such a  fun conversation about friendship, taking leaps of faith, and starting over to build a life of peace, happiness, and success.  Evelyn's personal quote: "I felt extraordinary but lived ordinary. Julie Chapin spent three decades as a corporate attorney, and after retirement in 2010, she was compelled to return to her acting roots.  She studied at Vassar College, just a few years behind the great Meryl Streep, combined with the tutelage of Bruce Ornstein, widely known for his appearance in Saturday Night Fever, who has taught actors like Sam Rockwell and Helen Slater.  Mara Prose and Julie discuss Julie's journey to identity, success, and bliss within the entertainment industry.

Today’s episode is one that is near and dear to my heart.  In season 1 back in April of 2018, we were fortunate to have one of Hollywood’s most renowned custom tailors, Carl Ulysses.  In 2018, the world was blown away with an entirely new representation of an African American comic book hero in Marvel’s the Black Panther, starring the late Chadwick Boseman.  

Carl worked closely with Academy Award winning costume designer, Ruth Carter, who made history as the first African American woman to receive an Oscar for costume design.  Carl is also known for his designs on Tyler Perry’s The Haves and The Have Nots, Ice Cube’s Barbershop and the 2018 action comedy Game Night starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams.
