This coversation between Fernando and Jay was the result of overhearing somebody saying this all too common phrase: "I can't believe you are doing this to me after all I have done for you!"

Don't get us wrong.... We're fairly certain that  we all might have said this or thought this at some point in our lives but..Ultimately, it's a glimpse into a flawed philosophy. The belief that your kindness somehow creates a debt that will always be honored. When in fact, if your motivation for doing good things is in the expectation of recipricahol love...we are so sorry

Please prepare yourself for massive dissapointment. Instead remember, do all things as if you are doing them for the Lord...because you are. And he never lets you down even though he doesn't keep score.

Leah Peksenak is quite simply, an awesome human and her interview as our 6th incredible woman will not disappoint.

We met Leah on the set of a local Charity Event known as “Listen to your Mother”. She had been spotted at a local open mic night singing an original song and that appearance had prompted the producer of the event to ask Leah to write a new song about motherhood for the event.

She agreed and the rest is history. When we heard Leah singing about combating generational curses we knew she was for sure one of our 7 awesome women. So we cornered her backstage and once again, Leah promptly agreed to not shy away from the mic and to being a MentalEdge guest.

How about that fact that she doesn't just run an occasional marathon, she has actually completed a 52.6 mile trail run in the Black Hills of South Dakota...you know, just your average 14 hour race at elevation running on trecherous ATV trails...a real stroll in the park right. 

Oh BTW, here's the thing. This is a woman that could barely run around the block 5 years ago. Straight Facts.

Fernando and Jay discuss the value of taking a break from perceived need. 

Jay is about to take the next weeks and dedicate one day each week, to a complete food and social media fast. What day?...MANday of course.  

Fernando has a private commitment he will fill you in on in the coming weeks as well. 

How do you make Monday even more of a MANday in MentalEdge land. You deny yourself the things you have been taught you're supposed to need and tell the Creator that you have purposely turned down the noise and the distractions in order to hear from him more clearly.

We believe that this discipline and intent will result in parallel benefits. More focus, a better physical well being most importantly, a deeper relationship with God. 

But we shall see. In typical MentalEdge fashion, we will be courageous enough to be honest. Was it worth it. Only time (8 weeks of time) will tell.

Very few things in life turn out the way they were first perceived. The laws of attraction are no different. 

In-fact, you come to the realization as you grow wiser that although looking great is for sure an initial igniter, it really won't keep the home-fire burning all by itself. 

So in the end, being sustainably attractive has a lot to do with who you are as human.  Are you dependable, supportive, a pleasure to be around? Do you care enough about your self to eat well, take care of yourself and not be a slob? Men do you smell good, dress nice and are you a lifetime learner who is always up-skilling? Are you kind? Can you respectfully stand your ground?

We hope you said yes to all of these things  because if you did, you are not only attractive...you are attracting the right people.

Occasionally you will find a creative person at the top of the hottest, trend setting company. When they are fortunate to attain a position at the top they typically receive accolades for being out of the box thinkers and genius's.

But what separates them from the "creative" people who never seem to make any progress?

The difference is the adoption of the disciplines that the rest of the world deems as reliable and trustworthy. 

As we progress toward sustainable personal growth in the new year we must learn to do the productive things that demonstrate we are dependable to the masses. 

You are not selling out my friends...you are helping them, buy into you! 

Don't be afraid to adopt the disciplines that speak so prominently to world and then,  when the time is right to shine...let your creativity separate you from the rest of the pack! And it will!

Do dads matter?
They do! And Fellas, listen up, you are about to listen to some startling statistics that support the need of your presence in your Childs life.

Most will tell you that this letter arrival was a liberating moment. But Fernando and I would like you to know that it's ok if at first its not so celebratory and instead feels a little like a surreal low moment.  

And even though its considered final in the eyes of the court, what's separated on paper isn't always as separated in our hyper connected world. 

How do you manage the friends you had in common?  How do you mange the Children you both love and must co-parent together...doesn't sound so "separated and final" after all does it? 

Don't worry, its a little messy but, we made it..and so will you.

The course of Divorce part 2, Order in the court. 
Here we go..I hope you landed yourself a real Perry Mason cuz you gonna need it. 

All kidding aside, we hope that all litigation regarding the dissolution of your marriage will be cordial and fair...but we also want you to know, thats typically not the game plan formulated against you by your soon to be ex's attorney. 

They're in it to "win it" if there is such a thing in divorce. The best way to be the winner in court is to paint your opponent as the looser. At least thats what the world thinks. 

It's going to feel like a personal attack at the worst time in your life. Because it is. It's not going to be easy but, its right here where you need to be resilient. This might get ugly..but your not about to go there. 

Nope, the new you knows you have a future and that future is too valuable to allow yourself to be manipulated by a professional arguer. Dont take the bait.
