The Movie Bucket List (MBL) Podcast

Inspired by watching Chris spend hours looking for a movie to watch, Pam bought the book 1001 MOVIES YOU MUST SEE BEFORE YOU DIE (ed. Steven Schneider). From that book, they created their Movie Bucket List. Now their date-night-in is spent watching a movie from that list and bringing their thoughts to you: plot, characters, actors, favorite quotes, historical background, film theory, literary elements, or sometimes just the parts they like best. Most importantly, they discuss whether the movie should be included in the book (and your movie bucket list!) At the end of every episode, they reveal the next movie so that you, too, can finish your own movie bucket list (or at least just watch the movie first since they will discuss spoilers!) SPOILERS AHEAD! Grab your hankie! This movie had us emotionally spent and one of us may have needed a hankie or two. This week, we watched the 2018 remake of A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. So much Oscar hype on this one last year to only walk away with Best Original Song. Does it deserve the hype or does it fall flat? Join us to see if we think it belongs in 1001 Movies.

    Gravity #7

    Gravity #7

Chris and Pam deep dive into that movie that proves that George Clooney would rather float away into space than spend one more minute alone with a woman his age. Tina Fey's Golden Globe joke made us want to go out and see this film. But the excellent film making by Alfonso Cuarón and acting by Sandra Bullock made us watch it over and over again. Join us this week for our discussion about all things space.

    When Harry Met Sally... #5

    When Harry Met Sally... #5

This episode of The Movie Bucket List, we deep dive into When Harry Met Sally... from 1989. Remember that fake orgasm scene? Yeah, we do, too, and we discuss it at length, along with all the other differences between men and women. Rob Reiner's directorial telling of Nora Ephron's story is what movie classics are made of. This one might be slightly longer, but it just shows how much we love the movie. Oh and our own When Chris Met Pam... re-telling as well. Grab a drink and send the kids out of the room for this one! "I'll have what she's having."

The randomizer picked the movie for episode 2, so listen until the end of the episode to find out which movie is next!
