Mike Patton (Middle Class with guest host Casey Royer)

On this episode we talk to Mike Patton of the Orange County band, Middle Class.  Middle Class was one of the first bands from Southern California to play blistering fast punk rock. These young clean-cut Dr. Pepper- drinking guys played shows with bands like the Germs, Screamers, the Zeros and many other first wave punk rock bands. When they released their 7inch EP Out of Vogue, it made a huge impact on many new punk rockers in the scene.  Casey Royer of DI/Adolescents/Social Distortion was one of those youths impacted by this album, so we found it appropriate to have him guest host this episode.  Did you ever wonder how the band came up with their name or the story behind the Out of Vogue cover?  If so, sit back as these two punk rock legends talk about the old days.

Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys/Alternative Tentacles) with Alison Braun

In this episode we talk to San Francisco punk legend, Jello Biafra, with one of our favorite guest host legendary punk photographer, Alison Braun.  The discussion will be about censorship and communication and their ideas of how we can get along better.  Jello Biafra, former lead singer of the Dead Kennedys and co-founder of the record label Alternative Tentacles, has had direct experience with his freedom of speech trying to be taken away by the Parent Music Recourse Center (PMRC).  So, sit back and enjoy the information-packed  episode of interesting views on some of the ways we got to current day discourse when it comes to freedom of speech.  DISCLAIMER: The Punk Rock Chronicles would like to apologize for any choppy audio that was out of our control for this episode.
