This week on part 2 of Jerald Robinson's The Rooted in Love Show episode we talk about getting over your personal feelings in order to accomplish your goals. He shares stories of having to think outside the box in order to fund the art supplies for his art students. Jerald talks about his mentors and those teachers that he has kept close contact with in order to learn. When he went through his hardest times, he had to focus on love and positivity rather than fight those that tried to block his success. Jerald ran campaigns outside of his school system tapping into community resources in order to become one of the top art teachers in the state of Georgia. You can find him working at the local food pantry, painting murals at yearly festivals, and teaching several art camps each summer.

This week on The Rooted in Love Show we talk with co-host Jerald "Bolo Fresche" Robinson who was recently awarded a Cobb County, GA art teacher of the year. He talks about his early years as a running back in highschool and at Alabama State University (HBCU). We learn that he had a bone tumor on his knee as a senior in HS and lost a lot of scholarships as a result before deciding on Alabama State. He talks about trying a career in graphics after college but ended up teaching special ed on a provisional contract in the county he grew up in thanks to a coach that remembered him. He speaks of the time he created an art gallery so that his students could experience a different world, many of which never traveled outside of their state.

This week on The Rooted in Love Show (the last 4 part series of season 1), we talk with Kevie Dixon, Basketball Consultant and Executive Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta. We talk about the transitions we face in life from one age to the next. From highschool to college then into adulthood. These are not always easy and the pathways are filled with roadblocks and obstacles. Those around us only see where we are now and can easily assume that our journeys were easy. Kevie gives us the details of his journey and its a humbling story to say the least.

This week on The Rooted in Love Show (the last 4 part series of season 1), we talk with Kevie Dixon, Executive Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta. We take time to learn how he grew up and learn about his early days in Mississippi. We find out that he never knew his father, which really speaks to his character as someone who has mentored and helped improve the lives of so many of the youth that come through the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta Programs. We talked about growing up country with no TV or video games. We found a freedom in being outside, working in the yard and getting locked outside during the day.
