Dear Friend, The Toad came to visit again…this time in an even higher dose than I described in episode one of this Podcast.

A week later, it hasn’t left me.

In surfing, one of the best mental reminders I carry with me, especially when surfing waves of consequence, is - “Where the eyes go, I go.”

Look down, go down. Look right, go right. Look left, go left. And, of course, when nothing is going right, surf lefts. What applies in one thing applies to all things. Law is law. Our inner eyes can focus or go to sleep. Unaware consciousness is a behavior where the individual is animated like a marionette…a program pulls the strings to impregnate potentiality with ITS will…not yours. Awareness of consciousness creates currency…or, for this example - CAPITAL.

Your experiences are of your own doing…your creation. All life, all creation is born from fucking. When True Will penetrates the receptive field of potentiality…the child possesses many predictable characteristics. All is Mind, my fair-weathered friends. And MIND is constantly fucking itself. Will we fuck passionately with focus and presence? Will we sometimes make sweet love and get sweaty and wild other times? Or will we lay flaccid and dull, allowing the program to create a reality like the disconnected screens filled with porn?

We can learn a lot about who we are by paying attention to how, where, when, who, and why we fuck. The occultist has the competency to see the metaphor in one aspect of life to build a tool for all aspects of life. Fuck passionately, my friends. One Love

There is a superb surf documentary called “Momentum Generation.” In it, a bunch of surfers that become the greatest surfers on the planet tell their tale of how one of the older guys that hung around with them used to make them drop in on closeout waves when conditions sucked. There is a lot to learn in surfing shitty conditions. There is a lot to learn in navigating the shitty conditions of life.

Of course, I do my best to follow multiple surf reports and use everything I have learned about surfing over the past four years to guess what break will produce the highest level of reward each day. But sometimes, despite my best efforts, conditions suck…sometimes after driving over an hour just to “score.” Nine times out of ten, even if the scene looks disappointing…I still paddle out wherever I choose to go. I usually tell myself, “Well, I’m here…I may as well make the best of it. It will still beat sleeping.” And sometimes…quite often actually…after I am out in the “shitty” conditions…things shift…conditions change. A sudden rainstorm might clean up the waves. Or the wind shifts and turns closeouts into peelers.

When these things happen, I am often the only one out enjoying the bliss. But by then, I’d already had it all to myself for at least an hour. The dipshits will tell you that knowledge is power. The impotent will tell you that understanding is the key to success. Wisdom comes from lessons resulting from HOW you ACT. Knowledge and understanding can lead you to fertile ground…yet there is no value without the ACT. Integrity Love Will Heresy

These past couple of weeks, I’ve been surfing at a spot where the beach is lined with professional photographers. The first time I realized that they were taking pictures of me and that they would send me the images for relatively cheap, I was stoked. And as I posted the images on social media, the compliments and applause from you, the audience, certainly satiated the hunger of the demon that continually attempts to hi-jack my mind with its haunting proclamations that I will never be enough. Before I knew it, I began fixating on getting more photos. Soon, I was surfing as a fractured self - a physical eye looking for waves and a mental eye seeking validation from Never Never Land. The beauty of surfing is in the performance of an art for the sole purpose of riding the wave…the tracks disappear moments after they are laid. As soon as it becomes an activity for the sake of others, the soul of surfing dies. As above, so below. Luckily I awoke before it went too far…haha. I surfed the rest of the week at epic breaks, paying no mind to whether or not there were photographers…and it was GOOD! What I learn in surfing applies to every aspect of my life. Needy bitches are gross. Beauty emanates from Source.

One of the most challenging things someone can do is have tough conversations when they know there will be hell to pay. Little boys walk on eggshells, and little girls run and hide when it gets too hot in the kitchen.

You there! The reader…you know what I’m talking about. How many times have you done it? - kept quiet about the elephant in the room because to address it would mean experiencing immediate discomfort.

Very few of us can summon the courage and have the discipline to follow through with a committed relationship with the truth. I’m talking about a quest to know what is true…what is real…what is ACTUAL…at all costs…to forsake all others…to fuck WHAT IS with all the passion and commitment one can muster.

If we aren’t committed to the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth…all that’s left is living a lie…and that, my fair-weathered friends, is no life at all. Living a lie is death…dead as a rusty rotten doornail. Let the dead bury the dead. Homie ain’t got time for that happy horseshit. When confronted with the ugly reality that every result in our lives is our own damn fault, how much longer will we play Peter Pan and never grow up…determined to reside in Never Never Land.

Many of you have been asking me lately if I am still married. No. I found out in January that my marriage had ended. Of course, I went through a lot of sadness and confusion for about six weeks. And as I emerged from the haze, I quickly discovered that life supports me perfectly when I honor it precisely as it unfolds, without being a whiny, little unaccountable bitch.

We always have a choice of CHARACTER when interacting with the moment. Choosing to meet each moment with as much dignity and composure as possible has led to a divorce that minimally affected the children and where my ex and I still manage to get along. And so, we have left the Beach Villa that supported us for the past 25 months.

I am so fired up to see where this next chapter of life leads my sons and me. So far, it has been nothing short of marvellous. Also, I have resumed offering 1:1 training on competently navigating psyche. These past eight months have tested everything I know about the areas of life we control vs. those in which we have no control.

When I woke up this morning, I could hear the waves thundering down on the shore. My immediate thought was, “Fuck yeah! The swell is here! It’s pumping!” Then a smile came across my face as my hand slipped between me and the blanket and felt a different type of pumping swell.

There is energy specific to that area of my body…it is from where I created my sons, and it is the same energy that, when harnessed properly, will plant the seeds to create my reality. I wake up every day with that energy flowing, pumping, and swelling…but for some reason, today was the first time I consciously harnessed that energy into my intentions for what I wish to create today.

Every day starts and ends in the middle of the night…at midnight. Each day emerges from the dark, burning brightest at an apex before retreating into the night. Winter gives birth to Spring before the heat of Summer gives way to Fall. And where does the energy of creation come, if not the depths of darkness?

The first time I was held down in quadruple overhead waves, there was a moment where I said, “Oh, shit! I am out of my element and think I made a big mistake!” For a minute, I wondered if I would make it home to see my kids again. When the ocean finally released me back to the surface, I was able to gasp in some oxygen…I found a level of energy, focus, and power that I rarely experience.

Out of the darkness of despair, hopelessness, shame, guilt, hate, rage, and deep sorrow…there is a superpower waiting to be tapped. I go into this in much more detail in this Episode of Musings from the Line-up.

Fearlessness does not mean the absence of fear (thank God…since the universe responds most favorably to courage). It simply means to fear LESS. The best way to fear less is to pull yourself together, lively up yourself, and get ON with it. “With what,” you ask? With the task at hand. With each moment exactly as it unfolds.

It’s incredible how quickly the fear disappears when we get ON with it…when we are UPLIFTING…first of self, then of perceived others. Fuck that passive-aggressive shit…fuck that avoidance…fuck all the games of back-biting, 1-up, and virtue-signaling.

Hit it all head-on…direct and kind. And don’t confuse being nice with being kind for a second. Nice comes from a French root meaning STUPID. The root of KIND is KIN…as in kinship or family (also KING). We don’t have to hate in order to kick ass…try playing your brother or best friend in any competitive sport…it is possible to love and give no quarter. Integrity Love Will Heresy

As I discovered this week on the line-up we need to have Discipline. It is vital. The word “discipline” comes from a Latin root: "punishment for the sake of correction, or suffering for the sake of learning and growth.” So, to whom will I become a DISCIPLE? To what AUTHORITY will I SUBJECT myself? ONLY the SOURCE that gives life…only that which creates my CONSTITUTION. Constitution - a BODY of LAW. NATURAL LAW - That which requires ZERO beLIEf.

If it ain’t self-evident, it ain’t shit. Plenty will play Peter Pan, refusing to grow up and become accountable. Those sad sacks prefer Never Never Land, where fantasy provides the chains of enslavement. ONE LAW, ONE LOVE, ONE LIFE, ONE DIRECTION that gets straight to the POINT. It should be no surprise that I hear people talking shit or making excuses. Vibrational frequencies are specific. If I see something fucked up on the outside, I can bet my bottom dollar I have something fucked up going on inside. As above, so below.

When I fail to guard the gates of mind, the inmates overrun the asylum. It’s hilarious how clever my monkey mind thinks it is as it schemes and plots all the ways to pretend it ain’t talking shit. I might have a chance at fooling the spectators, but it is impossible to trick player one. All the shit-talking that goes on upstairs in mind…about others, about myself, about circumstances, about life…tunes me in…to the exact frequency that will appear in front of my face. Switch the station. Tune in to gratitude, beauty, and uplifting content.

And watch as life unfolds most miraculously.

Well, ain’t that something! Episode 52 is in the can.

The Sage Surfer Podcast first aired on July 29, 2021…on my youngest son’s birthday. This episode marks one year of recording. Thank you for supporting me through this first year. Your messages, shares, thank you's, and encouragement make this endeavor worthwhile.

This past week I had multiple surf sessions with nobody out or only a few people in the line-up. Impossibles was pumping as well as the break right in front of my villa. Those sessions, combined with some remarkable experiences with some men’s groups I am involved with, led me to evaluate and dial-dial in on my core values.

When I refer to core values, I am referring to the values I choose that drive my behaviors. These are very different from the hard-wired values installed by my upstream providers that indoctrinated my mind as a youth.

The program, the matrix, the land of the dead…whatever you want to call it…trained me to behave in accord with the belief that I need to measure up to the incessant judgments of a jury of ghosts. Core values of The Matrix include comfort, avoidance, numbing, and escape.

The core values I choose are: Becoming (I expand on this in the episode) Health Wealth Nurturing Core Relationships Adventure It’s often a battle between relating with actuality or programming…and sometimes it’s not. I notice that fighting a battle where I gain nothing by winning is stupid. Integrity Love Will Heresy

No matter how much work I do, no matter how diligently I guard the gates of Mind…two subtle fears continually seek to penetrate and rule my way of being. The first fear occurs when I compare myself to anything outside of True Will. The antidote is in the poison. Striving to become the greatest version of myself is a welcome challenge…the growth may be uncomfortable, but it isn’t rooted in the type of fear that puts me to sleep and lets programming pull the strings of a lifeless corpse.

The second fear results from failure to penetrate this life with all we have to muster or playing Mickey Mouse games of what can I get and what’s the cost? The antidote is in the poison. Will I make passionate love to the moment…leaving her FULL-FILLED? Or will I short-stroke the bitch creating perpetual Mother Hunger?

As we FULL-FILL ourselves we can pull ourselves out of the hat and into the superficial as art. Who ART thou? And that ART will be CHERISHED by those with the Mother Hunger

This week I realized an entire decade has passed since I committed a crime. June 12, 2012, was my final transgression against humanity. That doesn’t mean I haven’t done illegal things. I’m talking about morality in accord with Natural Law.  Natural Law means: Do No Harm/Take No Shit. In simplest terms, it means don’t steal and defend liberty at all costs.

On June 12, 2012, I stole. I robbed my friend. Afterward, while lying in jail, I had a spiritual experience described in this episode. That experience sent me on a quest to discover “What is Truth?” Congruently I sought to discover “What is a lie?” It has been a fascinating journey this past decade. And I’m still a work in progress.

Two reasons that it is so easy to lie…to distort the truth and bare a false witness to others: Doubts about my intrinsic worth are in charge of my mouth. I’m being a pussy ass bitch that would instead simply portray a picture than DO the work necessary to be in integrity. Can I live a life where my words and deeds are indiscernible? Where they are ONE.  This episode goes more deeply into this idea.

About ten days ago, I was pushing 350 KG on the leg sled, and on the fourth rep, my lower back tightened up something fierce. My lower back was still locked up the next day, so I had my physio come to the villa to work on it. The doctor’s orders were no surfing until it loosens up, no weights, but stay active.

I have discovered that relying on a routine (like a pavlovian response) to re-mind me to stick to the game plan is a big trap when the routine gets disrupted. In a nutshell, I fell asleep hard over the past ten days. And when I say “fell asleep,” I’m not talking about going night night. I mean, I fell back into the matrix…the program…the land of the walking dead.

When we spend time in the matrix, the opportunity to influence our destiny is gone as soon as it happens. We are either with it as it unfolds or asleep at the wheel. No amount of crying, whining, complaining, wishing, warping, or wobbling reality will allow us to retreat into time and interact in a way that affects what has happened.

The sooner we understand this fact, the sooner we can come to terms with the incredible responsibility we each have to Self-Actualize. Separation is an illusion. Effect is the cause of cause…the ouroboros swallows its tale. Let’s get with IT…if not now, when?

Over the past three years, I have created multiple custom surfboards. For the longest time, I kept all of them in board socks (like giant socks that protect the board from dings) as I traveled to and from various surf breaks. But I never took the boards out of the socks while they were stored on my back patio.

One day my close friend, Swano, was at my villa and said, “Why are all of your boards in condoms? Let’s set them free so I can admire all those beauties.” I obliged, and when I saw all of my boards in the racks in their natural, beautiful, bright, and colorful state…I vowed to always store them without the condoms.

These past couple of weeks, the waves have varied between big and smaller, and I have surfed multiple breaks. During this recent stretch, I rode five different boards.

Having the proper equipment for the ever-changing conditions is a huge advantage if one wishes to surf well. Surfing the waves of change as actuality unfolds also requires various tools if one wishes to create competently. I’m speaking of the tools to tune into the frequency that creates harmony as it interacts with the moment exactly as it unfolds…creating EUDAIMONIA - A state of good spirit…aka happiness in your life.

The Perilous Journey isn’t saved for dropping in on big waves…it is a deep dive into the very depths of soul…of consciousness…of what we can become.

The wisdom inherent in surfers is so beautifully articulated by Timothy Leary when he said: “Surfers are the ‘throw-aheads’ of mankind, not the dregs; they aren’t the black sheep of humanity, but the futurists and they are leading the way to where man ultimately wants to be. The act of the ride is the epitome of ‘be here now’, and the tube ride is the most acute form of that. Which is: your future is right ahead of you, the past is exploding behind you, your wake is disappearing, your footprints are washed from the sand. It’s a non-productive, non-depletive act that’s done purely for the value of the dance itself. And that is the destiny of man.”

The simple fact is: HABITS create HABITAT, and habitat defines the individual. Only those courageous enough to embark on The Perilous Journey will ever discover the treasure inside this mystery.

And the gateway to this path is clearly marked: No one who passes through this gate will ever return, which is why so few dare to enter. INTEGRITY LOVE WILL HERESY
