the SHIFT Podcast with Trish Campbell & Diane McClay: Perspective & Our Power to Change

How can we broaden our view beyond our own individual realities? Are we actively navigating our life by choice, or are we living passively, by circumstance? A loss or ending is an opportunity to start again. Sometimes we need help filling in the gaps between where we are and where we want to be. Trish and Diane bring their unique backgrounds and life experiences to discuss an array of meaningful humanity-centered topics on The SHIFT Podcast, where perspective and our power to change intersect. Transformation begins within us. The mind, body, and soul know more than what exists outside of us. Clarity comes from awareness and momentum comes from choice. Life is always giving us lessons, but are you tuned in enough to hear them? Is your inner guidance system set on moving forward? We know there’s no easy button to affect change, but we’re confident that SHIFTing and sharing perspective can be transformational and empowering. Together we shine the light on what often gets overlooked, through self-awareness, and perspective, so that The SHIFT happens. Connect with Trish Campbell and Diane McClay on The SHIFT podcast to discover healing, clarity and transformation. The SHIFT Starts Now.

Ep. 30 - The Deliberate Pause

Ep. 30 - The Deliberate Pause

When we started his show, we did so unattached to any particular outcome other than to spark thought and contemplation around a broader perspective; how a shift in perspective can affect meaningful change in our lives - individually and collectively speaking.

Fast forward to a year and a half into the SHIFT - 30 episodes! - and we want to be more intentional with the direction we are headed, for ourselves and our growing listening community.

Sometimes in order to move forward with intention,  we need to pause, purposefully... being present in that pause, so we can move forward with  deepening purpose and impact.

And if you have been tuning in, you'll know a primary thread woven into our message has always been taking the time to reflect and understand what we are doing, how we are operating in our day-to-day lives and why we are doing it - or are we upholding the status quo simply because it's what we have always done... perhaps because it is easier than being a bit uncomfortable with something we have never done before.

The more we can understand ourselves, the better equipped we are to navigate these times of constant change.  However, we need to carve out time in order to apply the wisdom gleaned along the way.

On this episode we will expand on all of that and more... and how we're taking some of our own advice too.

You don't want to miss this one!

Our power to change collectively begins and ends with each of us individually, so let's do this together!

On the SHIFT, we use multiple perspectives to effect positive change within ourselves and our communities.  We create a reframe on traditionally accepted norms to generate personal freedom, empowerment, self-love and self-care.  We discover new wisdom and learnings by stretching our existing understanding of social protocols, health and spiritual practices, personal belief systems, celebrations and cultural influences.

Viewing life through multiple perspectives helps us find new tools and teachings that can support us in healing, in understanding ourselves better, and realizing the potential in our self-actualization. As we journey through perspective, we learn ways to reclaim our power from where we have historically given it away.

Ep. 29 - We Can't See It When We're in It: Perspective Shift

Ep. 29 - We Can't See It When We're in It: Perspective Shift

We can't fully see something when we are in it. Whether the "it" is a situation, environment, relationship dynamic, belief systems, the stories of illusion we live in, or something else.

When we are enmeshed in something, the perspective is not always clear.

There is an attachment emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually or any combination of these. We might remain in situations that are not serving us any longer because we have created a story we hold on to that makes us feel better about something that isn't really good for us, and isn't in alignment with who we are now.

We simply can't see it because we are in it.

“ Attachment is root of all suffering:”-  Buddha

That attachment is what sometimes keeps us stuck, and often we can make something more difficult than it truly has to be... we get in our own way, and in the process give away our power and agency over our own being.

Often the simplest thing is the most difficult because it might be uncomfortable to do something we haven't done before, and it is easier to just stay where we are.  When we do that, we perpetuate our own suffering.

In this episode, we'll talk about the perspective shift that letting go of the attachment gifts us, and how we can reclaim our power within. And we'll share some tips and questions we can work with to "let go."

    Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Nothing changes If we keep doing the same things, expecting different results - or not doing anything at all and expecting some else to take action.

Picking up from our last show, we'll talk about taking personal responsibility through our actions around environmental sustainability.

Will talk about some ways we can enhance our environmental connection and care for the Earth.

Bearing personal responsibility through the decisions we make, the actions we take, is more critical now than ever.

We can't wait to be told what to do or for someone else to do something.

Ep. 27 - We Are the Change We Need Right Now

Ep. 27 - We Are the Change We Need Right Now

Last year at this time, our show was about independence, and celebrating independence - why do we celebrate and what are we celebrating when not everyone has the same freedoms?

Are we simply going through the motions because that's how we have always done things? So as not to disrupt the status quo? Or are we actively choosing how we are living life and taking personal responsibility to create a better world with the individual choices we make on a daily basis?

A year later we can feel that encroachment on "freedom" reverberate in our lives even moreso.

    Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Nothing changes If we keep doing the same things, expecting different results - or not doing anything at all and expecting some else to take action.

We are going to talk about taking personal responsibility, what that means, why it is essential to navigate the current environment  and the constant change.

Ep. 26 - The Wisdom of Naturing

Ep. 26 - The Wisdom of Naturing

In this episode, we'll continue our conversation about the transformation that occurs when we immerse ourselves in nature  - the act of "naturing" - and what wisdoms we can glean about ourselves, the way we live, anllowing some deeper truths to surface that can help us heal, evolve and grow.

There is a difference between going into nature and being immersed and connecting with it as part of us.

We are nature. And so immersing ourselves in nature expediates the process of remembering who we came here to be. Nature is our medicine.

When we immerse ourselves in it... when we are "naturing", we can experience a shift in our being - being present, listening and observing.

This is our original and natural state of being.

Naturing is the process of remembering that which we came here to be, being open to being reminded of that in a multitude of ways in our dailiy lives, and uncovering what has been buried within us - individually and collectively speaking.

Ep. 25 - Immersing in the Wilderness

This is the first show of our 2nd season and we are so excited to begin anew with a conversation about the transformation that occurs when we immerse ourselves in nature - Release, Refresh & Recharge and immersing ourselves in the wilderness.

There is a difference between going into nature and being immersed and connecting with it as part of us.

    We are nature.

When we immerse ourselves, everything shifts from the trailhead to the top and back again - being present, listening and observing...

There is an energetic exchange happening... being in our own wilderness, releasing and resetting our energy, building our intuitive muscle.

This opens the space for more of our intuition to flow - and the more we strengthen that inner knowing, the more it opens us up to endless possibilities for creating the life we desire!

Episode 23 - Embracing the Pause

We are coming up on our one-year anniversary of the SHIFT Podcast - Perspective and Our Power to Change, and we're taking a look back, embracing the pause and reflection on where we have been this past year.

We'll talk about where we have been, what we have discovered.... the lessons - what we have learned, what we have learned about each other, and how our perspective has shifted doing this podcast together.

We are ambracing the pause... the chance to reflect on where we have been, bringing things into awareness,  so we can be more empowered in where we are going - wherever that might be!

    Ep. 22 - Question Everything - Part 2

It's episode 22!  On this episode of the SHIFT, we are going to continue our last conversation about questioning everything.

We will talk about the WHY and HOW... specifically around shifting our perspective to fuel our power to change our inner world so that we can see/feel/experience that impact in our outer world.

Why are we talking about cultivating a connection with our soul and inner wisdom?

Why are we inviting ourselves and our listeners, our friends, our families, our communities, corporations and agencies to engage in a different way of being?

Why is it important, and especially so with the state of our current world?

And how it begins, how we begin... by questioning everything.

What are the deeper wisdoms that have been buried and how does this apply to our individual ives?

Join us for another meaningful conversation, as we discuss real-time, real-life experiences that can be a bridge to a new way of being through shifting our perspective and reclaiming our power to effect change to bring us back into alignment with our inherent nature.

Let's lean into our inherent, divine wisdom and embrace this new and unknown territory, together.

Join us for this continuing conversation around our collective resistance to change.

We are continuing the conversation from our last episode where we talked about our collective resistance to going inward.

Our conditioning has our auto-response turning externally constantly when faced with discomfort, but we know that real change begins and ends with us... so what is the resistance to going inward really about?

Is it something else that is causing a resistance to really knowing ourselves on a deeper level, and in turn giving away our power?

What are our barriers to living more in line with our true nature?

Let's lean into our curiosity, together, to embrace new and unknown territory.

Our conditioning has our auto-response turing externally constant, but we know that real change begins and ends with us... so what is the resistance to going inward really about?

    Leaning into our Resistance

We invited you, our listeners to join us in increasing our connection with nature and allow ourselves to take notice the impact in our day to day.

Diane shared a quote from her book, Dreaming Big, Being Bold: that sums it all up:

“We need to align who we are, with what we believe, and what we value to function authentically with our whole self. We can have balance and harmony, when all the pieces of the self are attended to.” [Diane McClay]

So, what is our collective resistance all about?

What are our barriers to living more in line with our true nature?

As always collective change begins with each of us as individuals, taking a closer look and understanding with our truth.

If there is one thing that the last two years has highlighted for us, it is that as a society, at least in Western culture as we know it, we have been detached from our natural way of being.

Collectively speaking, we have disconnected from nature, viewing it separate from us.

We've become insulated from nature, from our Earth because we've become so reliant on things being provided for us, instantly, and we have - consciously or unconsciously - been part of that system contributing to our own disconnect from nature.

We talk on the SHIFT often; change begins with us as individuals.

First comes new awareness, a deeper truth, a new idea... and then what?

It is integrating the awareness that brings us real change. It's our individual actions that create a greater shift for raising our collective consciousness, for the evolution of our humanity.

So, what is it that we envision for humanity?

What do we envision for a more beautiful world?

What does it mean to come back into our natural intelligence?

We are asking these questions on this episode of the shift and what it means to move from awareness to taking personal responsibility for positive change.

It’s another episode you don’t want to miss!

    The SHIFT starts now!

    ****************************************************************************************************************************************

Episode 15 - Are You Reacting or Responding?

Episode 15 - Are You Reacting or Responding?

Are you living life or is life living you?

It's one of the overarching questions that drives our conversations on perspective and our power to change on the SHIFT Podcast.

We are starting off this new year, 2022, raising our cosciousness on the topic of reaction versus response.

We'll be taking a deeper look at the differences between reaction and response... how we might unknowingly be giving our power away by allowing others to control how we feel, and how we can make the shift to be more intentional, take a pause to allow awareness to enter so we can be empowered in choosing how we respond.

We're going break it down like we always do on the SHIFT,  and talk about actions we can take to be empowered in our day-to-day, in relationships... in life!

Episode 14 - Creativity & Higher Consciousness w/ Special Guest Author Robert T. Norton

Continuing our conversation from Episode 13 of the SHIFT, we'll dive deeper into channeling our creativity as a vehicle for healing and expanding our consciousness; deepening our connection with Soul, opening up our path to Self-Actualization.

Curiosity and creativity leads to awareness; awareness leads to possibility; and possibility leads to choice.

This is where the SHIFT begins!

    We'll continue discussing:

    • "The Flow State" - being internally guided, from our intuition.
    • Allowing ourselves to be present; to choose compassion over judgement from our ego state.
    • The Watching Place, trusting the internal guidance and how we can be in that higher place of consciousness through our creativity, and bringing a deeper self-awareness.

Going inward, connecting deeper through our creative gifts allows us to nurture relationship with Self, which ultimately benefits all beings.

Join us for this episode of the SHIFT where we welcome back our special guest, Author Robert T. Norton as he shares wisdoms from his personal exploration into creativity - the journey of the creative process, the epiphanies along the way, and how he is inspiring others to expand their own creative expression.

Creativity is a healer, a perspective shifter, a liberator and a portal to channel our own intuition and allowing our soul's unique expression, and through process that we expand our consciousness.

The SHIFT starts now!  Let’s do this together!

Episode 13 - Creativity - The Window to Self & the Soul

Episode 13 - Creativity - The Window to Self & the Soul

How aware are we of our creativity and the paths that we can use to find and to cultivate it? And why is it important to uncover and tap into our innate creative gifts?

Traditionally speaking we know creativity as harnessing our imagination, bringing ideas to life in the context of artistic work.

As children, our imaginations are infinite. Curiosity is boundless. We are not afraid to make mistakes. We are guided intuitively, free in our being at that young age.

As adults many of us leave our creativity behind for more tangible, responsible, (also self-limiting) belief systems and ways of being that we agreed to somewhere along our path. In that process, our innate gifts remain hidden.

Like we always do here at the SHIFT, what if instead we created a shift in our perspective to explore and expand our creativity in a new way?  As a vehicle to embrace our humanity while simultaneously letting go of ego and judgement? Or as a modality of self-care and healing - to connect deeper with ourselves and our soul?

Join us for this episode of the SHIFT where we welcome our special guest, Author Robert T. Norton as he shares wisdoms from his personal exploration into creativity - the journey of the creative process, the epiphanies along the way, and how he is inspiring others to expand their own creative expression.

We'll talk about creativity as a medicinal practice, a perspective shifter, a liberator and a portal to channel our own intuition and allowing our soul's unique expression.

Expanding our creativity ultimately expands our consciousness!

Episode 12 - An Energetic Perspective: Scalar Light & The Promise of New Technology

Episode 12 - An Energetic Perspective: Scalar Light & The Promise of New Technology

What if you could have access to the next new version of something that could change the world?

It takes courage to be a pioneer.   It takes courageous choice to continue advocating for something that other people don't understand, don't believe in, or just don't have the knowledge of it's existence.

Remember when we didn't have 5G networking speed, handheld computers, or even the internet?

Where would society be if we didn't have inventors, medical advancements, religious prophets, or leaders who take risks?  If we only stuck to the 'norm', we wouldn't have Alternative healing modalities such as Reiki, Meditation, Sound Healing, Prayer, naturopathic practitioners, herbal medicine, etc.

Join us for a special 1-hour episode as the Shift Podcast presents Tom Paladino, a 5th dimensional pioneer in Scalar Light Technology - and the vision of healing the world.  Scalar Light is new and emerging science and a key component to it's advancement is educating the world about its existence and benefits.  We're excited to learn in real time as Tom explains the origin of scalar light, it's healing potential and properties, and how he's developing technology to harness it to heal the world.

Join us for a robust conversation about new practices that challenge everything we've been led to believe about what is, and what's possible.

Engage curiosity.  Open yourself to new perspective as we learn how Scalar Energy transcends time and space and it's place in history with inventors like Nikoli Tesla.

We'll also learn how Scalar Energy can be used by humans like Photosynthesis is used by plants!

Episode 11 - Shifting the "Shoulds"

Episode 11 - Shifting the "Shoulds"

Remember when meditation wasn't mainstream? What about Reiki sounded too "Woo Woo" to be true?

Sensory deprivation, sound therapy, and cryotherapy are alternative healing modalities that were once "outside the norm".  Today, we navigate away from "the shoulds" as we ask questions and find our own unique ways to heal ourselves and reclaim our power.

We continue to uncover and integrate ancient wisdoms and systems that are often buried or overshadowed by Western culture. Generating curiosity and engaging new perspectives helps inform us as we discuss making The SHIFT from the "Shoulds".

Curiosity is the key to shifting perspective, especially when it comes to exploring new concepts, ideas, and practices that we have never heard of, or understand completely.

Curiosity leads to awareness which leads to possibility and Voilà, THE SHIFT BEGINS!

On The SHIFT Podcast, our goal is to widen your perspective, effect positive change through informed choice within ourselves and our relationships, and ultimately our world.  We'll bridge the gap between 'here' and 'there', whatever that means for you.

We expand our exploration into new perspectives, and ideas that reframe traditionally accepted norms to generate personal freedom, empowerment, and self-love, while strengthening our connection to self and one another in the process.
