God Disciplines
Hebrews 12:4-11 is our starting point. God disciplines his children. What does that mean and look like for believers?

Continuing on from our pre-recording conversation, how can two people who are studying the same passage come to two polar opposite understandings? Is it a sin to have a wrong understanding of a doctrine and will we be held accountable for the fruit that wrong understanding produces?
This week we dive in to 2 Corinthians 5 and discuss how In Christ we are new creations. This leads us to the question: Does a Christian only have one nature or does a christian still have a sinful nature?
Join us as we dive into 2 Timothy where Paul describes the need for sound doctrine and how people will ultimately want teachers who will tell them what they want to hear as opposed to the truth and also how doctrine isn't something to just be debated and held onto but is meant to lead us into how we live our lives.
"Jesus Wept." John 11:35. Why did Jesus weep and what can we draw from this short verse? Tune in!
We dive into the parable of the Unworthy Servant in Luke 17:7-10. Tune in as we dive into what seems like a harsh message from Jesus but after you unpack it and see it in the context of the whole story of redemption how beautiful and meaningful this short parable is.
Next week we will be diving into a particular passage of scripture and going through it and how it applies in our daily lives but this week we pick up mid-conversation about war time generals and we somehow tie that into our faith walk.
This week is a little bit of an extension from last weeks episode where we talked about why we are here but we start with how having some order in our lives vs our lives being completely full of chaos is healthy and what that points to.
Why are we here? How does our perspective on why we are here effect what we do and how we live our everyday life? Listen in as we discuss and work through these questions that everyone at some point has asked themselves.
Everyone will get a taste of what our pre-recording conversations sometimes consist of but, stick around and we eventually end up on our intended topic of conversation of God furthering our spiritual life in and through our circumstances.
Tune in as we discuss New Year's resolutions, why they never seem to stick and how we can live from a place of who we are as opposed to what we do.
Merry Christmas to all of our listeners! Listen in as we discuss how we keep Christ at the center of this time of year and how everything else associated with this special holiday should be seen in light of miracle that is Christmas.
The whole crew is back as we recap Josiah and Jonathan's recent trip to El Salvador. By the way: if you have any new/used/gently used shoes you could donate, please reach out to help the mission of Soles for Christ!
With Jonathan and Josiah out on the mission field this week, Fenn and Brett discuss how our lives and the way we live them should reflect the beliefs that we hold to. And why or how does there seem to be a disconnect between the truth statements that we believe and how it impacts our day to day lives.
After a week off, the whole crew is back and we jump start the conversation with a quote from Oswald Chamber: "Seeing is never believing: we interpret what we see in the light of what we believe. Faith is confidence in God before you see God emerging; therefore the nature of faith is that it must be tried."
With it being thanksgiving week, Brett is solo this week. Tune in to listen to how grateful Brett is for the podcast and how our thankfulness should be tied to God and who he is.
How can we know or have assurance that we have saving faith in Jesus Christ? Listen in as we unpack the evidence that a person with genuine faith in Jesus Christ will show and also how our faith must be in the Jesus that the Word of God describes and not a different Jesus.
What can Forrest Gump teach us about love? A lot it turns out. Tune in as we discuss what love is and how a biblical view of love is different than how the world defines it.
We were blessed and privileged to be joined by Joe Lambe this episode. Coach Lambe has had a profound impact on all of his students throughout his 31 year teaching and coaching career in Cabarrus County and was kind enough to hop on with us and impart his wisdom not only to us but to anyone listening. Tune in to hear his testimony and learn from someone who has been faithful with what God has put in front of him.
In our latest episode we talk about obedience to the truth and somehow end up with a Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce and Slim Shady reference all in the same podcast. Tune in to hear it! Also, we have a special announcement for next week's episode!
